Moses Brown News
Cleveland Cavaliers center Moses Brown will be part of the team's starting five for Wednesday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks. He is filling in for injured rookie center Evan Mobley (ankle), who has been ruled out for the team's next three games. It's a bit surprising to see Brown in the starting five instead of Kevin Love, who played 32 minutes, primarily at center, in the team's last game. Brown, meanwhile, has averaged just 5.4 minutes per game this month. We'll see if Brown is able to make the most of his time on the court, but he isn't an advisable fantasy option at least for now.
Dallas Mavericks center Moses Brown has been bumped into the starting five for Monday's contest against Cleveland. The move raises an eyebrow since Brown has not appeared since Nov. 10, and he has logged just 18 minutes across six games this season. Willie Cauley-Stein (illness) is unavailable Monday, and with the Cavaliers boasting two players at or near seven-foot in their starting five, Brown stands to see a minutes increase, although whether or not it will be enough for him to garner fantasy relevance remains unclear. The 22-year-old started 32 games last season for Oklahoma City and averaged 8.6 points and 8.9 rebounds across 21.4 minutes on a nightly basis.
Oklahoma City Thunder center Moses Brown scored a career-high 24 points and added 18 rebounds for a nice double-double in Sunday's win over the Clippers. The big guy also registered a new career high with a whopping seven blocks. Brown shot 12-for-19 in the game and delivered three assists. Josh Hall, who missed most of his rookie campaign through injury, also had a big finish to the year with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Brown should be a double-double machine in no time if he earns enough trust from the coaching staff. He logged only 21.4 minutes per game in 2020-21, but still managed to average 8.6 points and 8.9 rebounds.
Oklahoma City Thunder center Moses Brown picked up a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double in Tuesday's 122-106 loss to the Kings, shooting 3-for-7 from the field and 4-for-8 at the foul line. He also registered one steal and one block with three turnovers. Brown has had some big performances ever since entering the rotation in March, but he's still very raw and his minutes have been fairly limited over the last few weeks. He has a chance to battle with Rudy Gobert next when the Jazz are in town. It's an intimidating matchup, but Utah's defensive numbers against opposing centers actually aren't all that great this season.
