Point guard Saben Lee will spend the 2024-25 campaign overseas. The 25-year-old has agreed a deal with Manisa in Turkey. Lee takes his talents to Europe following 134 NBA appearances. After being a second-round selection in the 2020 draft, Lee made his debut with the Detroit Pistons in 2020-21. He also featured for the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns. Last season, Lee averaged 7.7 minutes across 24 games in Phoenix, posting 3.0 points with 1.3 assists. The Vanderbilt product has notched 5.2 points and 2.8 assists overall in his NBA career.
The Utah Jazz have reportedly acquired veteran center Kelly Olynyk and combo guard Saben Lee from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Olynyk will be joining his fourth organization in the past three seasons, having spent just one year with the Pistons, where he averaged 9.1 PPG over 40 contests. Utah will have a new-look roster come the start of the 2022-23 season and Olynyk could figure prominently into the team's frontcourt alongside Walker Kessler and the newly acquired Cody Zeller. Lee's role is less clear in a crowded backcourt; the 23-year-old averaged 5.6 PPG over each of the past two seasons with Detroit.
Detroit Pistons point guard Saben Lee and small forward Rodney McGruder have been ruled out for Thursday's game against Miami, as they are part of a group of Pistons to have entered the league's health and safety protocols. Both Lee and McGruder have served as limited usage second unit assets for Detroit this season, but their absence presses the team to just nine active players vs. the Heat. Lee has shown a propensity for scoring when given a sizable minutes allotment, although when that comes has been difficult to predict. Fantasy managers can consider both players out indefinitely.
Saben Lee Scores Season-High 22 Points Off The Bench
Detroit Pistons rookie point guard Saben Lee had a strong all-around game in 29 minutes off the bench against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Lee shot 7-for-9 from the field and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the line. He dropped a team-high and a season-high 22 points while also adding five assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block. Lee hadn't been contributing much scoring lately. This was only the second time he's scored in double-digits since the start of April. His minutes have been inconsistent and somewhat based around which players the Pistons have had available, but he's generally been providing good assists when he's seen the floor. His next game will be on Friday against the Denver Nuggets.
Detroit Pistons point guard Saben Lee had a 14-point first half in Monday's 118-104 victory over Toronto. He got off to a flyer in his second career start and finished with 19 points in the end on 7-for-12 shooting with a perfect 2-for-2 record from behind the arc. Lee handed out five assists and recorded three rebounds with one steal and one block. He's had a few very encouraging performances since entering the rotation a month ago. Lee gets a pair of great matchups next versus Portland and Washington, but it's been only a little over a week since the Vanderbilt product logged just seven minutes in back-to-back outings, so it's tough to rely on him.
Detroit Pistons guard Saben Lee was 0-for-3 from the field in 16 minutes of action in Saturday's loss to the Brooklyn Nets. That resulted in no points for Lee, though he did add five rebounds and five assists. Before the All-Star break, Lee was trending up, with a pair of 20-point games in February. But even with Dennis Smith Jr. sidelined on Saturday, Lee couldn't carve out a role. If you picked him up a couple of weeks back and were still holding onto him, it's probably safe to go ahead and move on from Lee in season-long redraft leagues.
For the second game in a row, Detroit Pistons guard Saben Lee played heavy minutes and finished with a strong stat line. Against the Magic on Tuesday, Lee scored 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting, going 3-for-3 from deep and also adding four assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Lee had been a complete afterthought for most of the season, but with Delon Wright (adductor strain) and Wayne Ellington (rest) out, Lee made the most of things. Is he someone you should be looking at in fantasy at this point? That's a tough one, as we don't know what his minutes on a full-strength Pistons team look like. He could be a nice streaming play until Wright returns.
