The Chicago Bulls have signed forward Stanley Johnson to a 10-day deal. The organization currently has a handful of players sidelined while they follow the league's health and safety protocols. That being said, the Bulls have brought in Johnson as emergency depth. His playing time is uncertain, so fantasy managers can feel safe leaving him on the waiver wire. Derrick Jones Jr. is above him on the depth chart and a much better option right now.
Stanley Johnson Explodes For Career-High 35 Points
Toronto Raptors forward Stanley Johnson had the best game of his career in Thursday's loss to Chicago, leading all scorers with 35 points on 12-for-22 shooting. He was 6-for-13 with the three-ball and went 5-for-7 at the charity stripe with 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals. The Raptors have pulled the plug on their season, which gives bench guys like Johnson a chance to show what they can do in meaningful minutes. Expect him, and the likes of Malachi Flynn and Jalen Harris, to be busy in the final regular-season games as well.
Toronto Raptors small/power forward Stanley Johnson will rejoin the starting five for Monday's game against Houston in place of OG Anunoby (rest). Johnson's last two starting gigs saw him play just 14 minutes, so DFS managers may be best served playing it cautious with the athletic wing. The absence of Anunoby is most relevant to Norman Powell, who dropped 43 points in his last outing without Anunoby available. While Johnson's only two double-digit scoring performances this year have come as a starter, he'll be a finicky option, one that can be expected to return to the second unit Wednesday when Anunoby gets back into the mix.
Milwaukee Bucks forwards Stanley Johnson, Jason Smith and four second-round picks have been traded to the New Orleans Pelicans for power forward Nikola Mirotic Thursday as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Johnson was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks just yesterday from the Detroit Pistons in a separate deal. Johnson was originally selected by the Pistons in the first round of the 2015 draft and is still young at just 22 years of age will likely get minutes for the Pelicans at both small and power forward positions. Johnson has averaged this season 7.5 points with 3.6 rebounds a contest. Smith, on the other hand, hasn't gotten much action as he is only playing 9.4 minutes a game. Next up for the Pelicans are the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, expect both players to sit because of travel and then getting a chance to meet their new teammates.
Detroit Pistons guard/forward Stanley Johnson has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for center Thon Maker. Johnson could use a change of scenery, but fantasy owners shouldn't get too excited. He'll battle Tony Snell and Pat Connaughton for minutes, so fantasy owners should probably just leave him on the waiver wire. Maker will soak up the backup center minutes in Detroit, but won't do enough worth owning in fantasy leagues.
Small/power forward Stanley Johnson will be joining the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for center Thon Maker, as was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Johnson has appeared in 48 games this season with Detroit, but has made just seven starts and averaged 20 minutes and 7.5 points per contest. Its not immediately clear where hell slot in with Milwaukee, but he has a chance to make the playoffs first the first time since his rookie season in 2015-16. It appears unlikely that Johnson could be ready to play Wednesday night versus the Washington Wizards, which would mean his first legitimate chance to suit up for his new club comes Friday against Dallas.
Detroit Pistons small/power forward Stanley Johnson benefited from his squads blowout victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday, as he collected 21 points in 25 minutes off the bench. His point total is his highest in a single contest since Nov. 27, while his four made threes tied his season high. Johnson also added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals to his stat line, delivering a stacked showing seemingly out of nowhere. He is a tough fantasy own due to his volatility, having shot just 31.6 percent from the field during the month of January.
Detroit Pistons forward Stanley Johnson (hamstring) is probable for Friday's game against the Miami Heat. Johnson is dealing with right hamstring soreness, so the Pistons may elect to be cautious and hold him out. Johnson has been awful lately, so he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Reggie Bullock Remains Out While Stanley Johnson Is Active
The Detroit Pistons will be without guard Reggie Bullock (ankle) again Wednesday night, but will have guard/forward Stanley Johnson (knee) in the lineup against the Charlotte Hornets. Bullock will miss fifth straight game as the Detroit medical staff is taking his rehab slowly and could miss more time. Johnson will return after a three-game absence as he resumes his role of the bench. Luke Kennard and Bruce Brown Jr. will start, but may lose minutes with Johnson back. Of the three, Kennard seems to have the most short-term value right now.
Detroit Pistons forward Stanley Johnson (knee) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. He's missed the last three games, but there is a good chance that Johnson is able to return on Wednesday. Johnson should be able to get fairly solid playing time with the Pistons banged up. However, it's difficult to trust him in standard leagues.
