Theo Maledon Moves To France

French point guard Theo Maledon will be back in his homeland for the 2024-25 campaign, joining LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. The 23-year-old made his pro debut with the Tony Parker-owned ASVEL and now returns to the team following four seasons in the NBA. Maledon started his career in the States with the Oklahoma City Thunder and spent the 2023-24 season with the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns. Maledon made 17 appearances last term, producing 3.5 points and 1.6 assists in 12.5 minutes. Following a strong rookie campaign, during which Maledon averaged 10.1 points and 3.5 assists, he struggled to hold down a regular role on teams.

Theo Maledon Returns To Charlotte On Two-Way Deal

Point guard Theo Maledon has earned another deal with the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The 22-year-old is returning to the team on a two-way contract. Maledon was also picked up on a two-way contract by the Hornets a year ago, and he had a decent time with the team by averaging 6.7 points and 3.5 assists in 19.4 minutes. However, Maledom's situation will clearly be complicated in 2023-24, as several players are back healthy for Charlotte, which limits the Frenchman's chances of earning minutes.

Theo Maledon Has Another Productive Outing Friday

Charlotte Hornets guard Theo Maledon put in another productive performance Friday against Houston, posting 22 points with eight assists and a career-high five steals in a 122-109 loss. He got there with 8-for-15 shooting, hitting a nice 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Across 38 minutes of action, Maledon also picked up one rebound and one block. With Maledon and Svi Mykhailiuk forming one of the deadliest backcourt duos in the league, you know that the NBA regular season is sadly coming close to an end. The pair will finish the campaign against Cleveland on Sunday, with Maledon entering the action having averaged 14.3 points, 11.0 assists and 2.3 steals in the last three games.

Theo Maledon On The Move To Houston

The Thunder have traded guard Theo Maledon to the Rockets. In addition, Houston will also receive Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome, and Maurice Harkless in exchange for David Nwaba, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, and Marquese Chriss. Maledon played in 51 games with OKC last season. However, he shined during his seven appearances in the starting lineup, averaging 16.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. The 21-year-old is young and has plenty of upside. However, unless Maledon can carve out a consistent role in Houston throughout the 2022-23 campaign, he's nothing more than a dynasty stash.

Theo Maledon Scores Season-High 25 Points

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Theo Maledon had one of his best games of the year on Wednesday as the team defeated the Orlando Magic 118-102. The second-year guard scored a season-high 25 points and added six assists, four rebounds, two three-pointers, one block and one steal. He shot 9-for-13 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) was out for the game, which led to Maledon's increased usage. Maledon's 32 minutes in the contest matched a season high. SGA doesn't seem to have a significant injury so Maledon isn't someone who needs to be rostered in most standard fantasy leagues.

Theo Maledon Removed From Injury Report

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Theo Maledon (foot) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Utah Jazz. It sounds like Maledon will return, but Luguentz Dort (rest) and Ty Jerome (calf) are expected to be sidelined. That being said, Maledon is likely going to be in for a big game as OKC attempts to not get completely blown out. He could be worth a look as a possible cheap DFS option on Friday.

Theo Maledon, Aleksej Pokusevski Questionable For Sunday

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Theo Maledon (foot) and small forward Aleksej Pokusevski (knee) have been deemed questionable to play in Sunday's game versus Sacramento. Maledon has held down starting PG duties for OKC since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went down, but he has struggled mightily from the field during his rookie season. Much of the same can be said for Pokusevski, who is shooting a whopping 32.5 percent overall on the year, including 25.9 percent from behind the arc. For season-long leagues in which shooting percentage is not a consideration, Maledon and Pokusevski stand to have sizable appeal over the final week. Check back prior to tip-off to get the final word on the duo's respective statuses.

Theo Maledon Has 25 Points In Wednesday's Loss

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Theo Maledon rolled to 25 points on 9-for-18 shooting in Wednesday's home loss to the Hornets, going 3-for-10 from downtown and 4-for-4 at the foul line. He logged a team-high 36 minutes and had five rebounds, five assists and two blocks with six turnovers. The 19-year-old rookie has improved throughout the season, and with a bunch of guys currently missing for OKC, Maledon carries a big load on the offensive end. He can be inconsistent at times but the potential for big performances is there. Maledon started the month with a 33-point eruption against a strong Phoenix team, so putting points on the boards against a struggling Cleveland side on Thursday doesn't look like a tough task for him.

Theo Maledon Goes Off For Career-High 33 Points

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Theo Maledon went off for a career-high 33 points in Friday's loss to Phoenix. Maledon was a model of efficiency, shooting 10-for-18 from the field, 5 of 7 from deep, and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line while chipping in five rebounds, three assists, and a steal in 31 minutes. The 19-year-old was already seeing an increased workload with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot) sidelined- but the recent absences of Luguentz Dort (head) and Darius Bazley (shoulder) have opened up even more touches in the Thunder offense, which Maledon seized on Friday. With Gilgeous-Alexander expected to be out until at least mid-April, Maledon may very well have more games like this one.

Theo Maledon Shines In Loss

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Theo Maledon broke out during Saturday's loss to the Boston Celtics. He finished with 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and four triples in 37 minutes. This might very well be his best outing of the season, so hopefully there is more to come. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot) is without a timetable, which means Maledon should get at least 30 minutes per game going forward. Fantasy managers shouldn't consider him a must-add right now, but Maledon should be on the radar after that performance.
