NFL Fantasy Recap: Best and Worst of Week 6

NFL Fantasy Recap

Week 6 didn’t quite take off like many football fans thought it would. The Chiefs won on TNF but it was 19-8. Based on the Broncos’ defense facing Mahomes and the Broncos’ offense having some success lately, many thought this one would be a thriller. It was a good football game but not much action outside of Taylor Swift…I mean Travis Kelce, my fault! Across the pond in London, the Ravens got the job done in an unusual fashion. The Dolphins pump-faked us all after going down 14-0 early in the game but emerged victorious. The Commanders did their best to blow the game but went home with the win. The Bengals ALSO tried to blow the game, but their defense came in clutch. The Jags dominated and embarrassed Gardner Minshew. The Vikings looked lost without Justin Jefferson but were able to get the W. The undefeated 49ers missed a late-game field goal to win, giving the Browns their 3rd win. C.J. Stroud earned his 3rd victory in his young career.

In the afternoon slot, The Raiders made a lot of people happy with the late safety to give bettors the -3 spread. The Lions dominated the Bucs, They didn’t give up a touchdown and they’re now 5-1. The Rams took care of business at home and the Jets took down the almighty Eagles at Metlife. The Bucs looked lost after the bye week and got smoked by Jared Goff. Detroit has one of the best records in the NFL now! The Bills and Giants put on a “show” for Americans on SNF. A clown show that is. To wrap the week up, the Cowboys came to LA and secured a victory.

Chiefs vs Broncos

I really thought this game would turn out better. The Broncos offense had been clicking a bit and the Chiefs, well, they’re the Chiefs. Alas, this game was a barn burner. 19-8 with a Chiefs victory. Russell Wilson’s 95 passing yards probably had much to do with that. Somehow, some way, Courtland Sutton was able to score 14 fantasy points. 4 catches for 46 yards and a TD. He literally had 50% of Wilson’s yards. Insane. Javonte Williams’ returned from injury but he was pretty “meh”. 10 rushes for 52 yards and a 2-point conversion is not great. 7.2 points for him this week. Russell Wilson had 6.9 points but after back-to-back weeks of 18+ points, you’d expect more from the veteran. Tough week for the Broncos as a disappointing season continues to roll…

The Chiefs may not have had the prettiest week, but they got the job done and got the win. For fantasy, there were three MVPS. Harrison Butker (K), the Defense/special teams, and Travis Kelce. Butker had 18 points! You love to see that. Their defense also scored 16 points which is huge for fantasy teams. Travis Kelce was the best performance from the offensive side of the ball. 9 catches for 124 yards (21.4 pts) is an awesome day. Especially, since he did not score a touchdown. Isiah Pacheco continues to impress. He ran for 62 yards but also caught 6 passes for 36 yards giving him 15.8 points this week. Mahomes reached 300 passing yards (306) but only had 1 touchdown and it went to Kadarius Toney at the goal line. Mahomes scored 17.3 this week. The only other fantasy-relevant player from the Chiefs was rookie wide receiver, Rashee Rice (11.2 pts), who should be stashed going forward. Mahomes moves to 12-0 against the Broncos in his career.

Ravens vs Titans

The third London game of the season and the third week in a row with a game starting at 9:30 AM EST! You love to see it. Unless you’re a West Coast individual, then you may not love it. This was mostly a snooze fest in the first half. The Ravens turned it around in the second quarter a little bit but it was a slow start. The Titans didn’t find the endzone until the middle of the third quarter. Anddddd that was the last time they did. It didn’t help that Tannehill got injured and Malik Willis was going to have to pull off a miracle to get the win. He did not look great. This was pretty ugly from the Titans when it comes to fantasy scores. Derrick Henry and his 97 rushing yards and touchdown gave him 19.3 points. After him, the highest score was 7.3 from Tyjae Spears and almost all of those points came from his one catch for 48 yards. Tough week for the Titans.

The Ravens, while also struggling to score touchdowns, secured the win and had a few fantasy-relevant players in the process. Zay Flowers scored his first NFL touchdown and also added 6 catches for 50 yards. Flowers scored 17.1 points this week. Lamar had 223 passing yards, a TD, and 62 rushing yards. Surprise, surprise…he was the Ravens’ leading rusher. 17.1 points from Lamar this week. Mark Andrews did okay, but he certainly did not win you your matchup. He caught 4 passes for 69 yards giving him 10.9 points. If you happen to be playing Justice Hill or Gus Edwards you got 6 points from each of them. They pretty much need to fall into the endzone each week for them to be fantasy-relevant. Ravens move to first place in the AFC North.

Falcons vs Commanders

The Falcons had multiple chances to get this game tied up. They had 2 different drives in which they were moving the ball and looked like they may get the touchdown they needed. However, Desmond Ridder decided he wanted to give the ball to the Commanders instead. Ridder threw 3 interceptions this week. Still managed to have 300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns with it, all good for 16 points. Could’ve been 22, however. Gotta get that fixed Mr. Ridder! Drake London had himself a hell of a day! 21.5 points from 9 catches for 125 yards. I wish he found the endzone, that would have been nearly a 30-point game. Kyle Pitts is back on the map. He found the endzone this week and caught 4 passes for 43 yards giving him 14.3 points on the day. I didn’t mention Bijan’s name you’re right. Because Arthur Smith HAS to give Tyler Allgeier as many carries as Bijan. I don’t understand that. I respect what Allgeier brings to the table, but the gap between his abilities and Bijan’s should automatically give Bijan the bulk of the work but what do I know? I’m just a fantasy football addict.

The Commanders will leave Atlanta victorious, but it wasn’t very pretty. Sam Howell threw for 150 yards and 3 TDs. I’m not even sure how that is possible but here we are. 18.3 points for Howell this week. The leading skill player was Curtis Samuel. 4 catches for 42 yards and a TD giving him 14.2 points. Terry McLaurin was not far behind him with 14.1 points. McLaurin had 6 catches for 81 yards. McLaurin has yet to find the endzone this year but his time will come. Brian Robinson continued his solid season. He had 31 rush yards, 2 catches, and 25 yards with a score this week. All of that was good for 13.6 points. The touchdown saved his day but it still counts! If you were desperately playing Antonio Gibson at least he salvaged his day by catching a TD. Only 8 points for him. The Commanders are back to .500 after this close victory but they have plenty to get figured out.

Seahawks vs Bengals

I don’t know about you, but I expected this one to have more scoring than a 17-13 finish. The Seahawks had a chance late in the game to take the lead but were stopped in the Bengals territory. Geno Smith threw for 323 yards but was not able to throw a TD and had 2 interceptions. Not the best day. Only 10.9 points from him. Kenneth Walker found pay dirt yet again, making it 4 straight weeks he scored a touchdown. Walker had 62 rush yards, 3 catches for 27 yards and the TD I mentioned. This gave him 17.9 points. Proving to be a solid asset this year for fantasy. Tyler Lockett was the leading receiver with 15.4 points. He caught 6 passes for 94 yards. D.K. Metcalf was able to put together a 10-point week. He reeled in 4 passes for 69 yards. He got banged up, so be sure to pay attention to his injury status this week. Not the best week for the Hawks, but on to next week.

The Bengals also weren’t exactly clicking like we saw last week. The defense stepped up when it mattered most, and that’s all they needed. You know when Tyler Boyd leads the team in fantasy points, things were unusual for Cincinnati. Boyd had 16.8 points off 7 catches for 38 yards and a score. Clearly, the score gave him his big week, but all that matters is he got it! Ja’Marr Chase was the second-highest scorer. He had 6 catches for 80 yards this week (14 pts). Joe Burrow was the next-highest score. Throwing for 185 yards and 2 TDs, Burrow got to 13.8 points, which is not great. But, at least the touchdowns are coming. Joe Mixon didn’t have a great week. 38 rushing yards and 3 catches for 24 yards gave him 9.2 points. Hopefully, the Bengals skill players can turn it around. They have a bye next week, so I think the wheels will get turning post-bye.

Panthers vs Dolphins

The Panthers had everyone shook when they were suddenly up 14-0. Bryce Young was dealin’ and Chuba was runnin’ up and down on the Phins’ defense. The story of the day for the Panthers was Adam Thielen. He has taken the fantasy scene by storm thus far! 28.5 points for the vet. You love to see that. 11 catches for 115 yards and a TD. Chuba Hubbard might be slowly taking over the starting running back spot. We’ll have to see how they split the backfield going forward. Hubbard had 88 rushing yards and a TD (16 pts). Bryce Young ended with 12.6 points, he had 217 yards and a TD. Personally, I think he has shown signs of improvement and with not much firepower around him, he will get better as the Panthers rebuild. Tough loss for the Panthers.

Miami is firing on all cylinders. They have the #1 offense in the NFL, the #1 QB in the NFL and an unstoppable run game as we speak. I am a Dolphins fan, so I will most likely use a lot of hyperbole in this blurb, so bear with me. Tua Tagovailoa is having one hell of a campaign. Most passing yards in the NFL after week 6. Love to see it. Tua had 262 yards and 3 TDs on Sunday (22.4 pts). QB1 on the week as of Sunday night. Raheem Mostert is also taking the league by storm. He had 115 yards and 2 TDs this week, putting him at RB1 this week. He scored a massive 34.2 pts. I have plenty of Raheem Mostert shares in fantasy, so I am a happy boy across the board. Tyreek Hill caught 6 passes for 163 yards and a TD. Another huge week from Tyreek, he had 28.3 points. Jaylen Waddle scored 18 points on his 7 catches for 51 yards and his touchdown. Can’t forget Salvon Ahmed, he found the endzone late in the game and scored 12.4 points. Big week for the Dolphins!

Vikings vs Bears

This could not have been a messier game. It was 6-3 for the majority of the first half. A pissing match some would call it. The 3 QBs who played in this game had a combined 322 yards. That is bad. So bad. Justin Fields got hurt, so he did not have a good week. Fields had 58 passing yards, an interception, and 46 rushing yards. A total of 4.9 points for him. Yikes. D.J. Moore was able to scrap together 5 receptions for 51 yards (10.1 pts). Not quite the success he has had lately, so that was a bummer. If you were someone who streamed D’Onta Foreman this week, you got the volume for a good stream, but not the points. He only had 65 rushing yards (7.2 pts). If the Bears offense would’ve had more success, he might’ve found the endzone but not this week. It’s never good when a team’s defense is their fantasy high scorer.

The Vikings left week 6 victorious, but it was not a clean win. Cousins failed to get anything going other than a touchdown pass. 181 yards and a TD later he scored 8.7 points. I knew Justin Jefferson was his go-to but I didn’t think he’d be lost without him on the field. Luckily, they drafted an excellent receiver in Jordan Addison. He led their receivers with 11.8 points. 3 catches for 28 yards and a TD from Addison. Alexander Mattison managed to score double digits. With the way things went this week, you should be happy he got that. 44 rushing yards and 4 catches for 28 yards for Mattison. I thought T.J. Hockenson would have a boom week with Jefferson out but Hock only got 11 points. Still a good score for a tight end, but we expect more from T.J.

49ers vs Browns

There’s going to be someone who missed the games this weekend and drops their jaw when they see the P.J. Walker-led Browns beat the undefeated 49ers. Their second question will be, “Did everyone get hurt?” which is a fair question, and in all honesty, yes, the 49ers were dealing with injuries but we need to give credit to the Browns’ defense for keeping them in this game and allowing the offense to do their part and get a win. Their fearless leader, Brock Purdy, did not have a great game. 125 passing yards and 1 TD gave him 7.7 points after an interception. Christian McCaffrey got banged up but was able to score 14.2 points. 43 rush yards, 3 catches, and a TD. Go add Jordan Mason if you can! Aiyuk was the second-highest score with 11.6 points on 4 catches for 76 yards. George Kittle caught one ball for a single yard. 1.1 points for Kittle. Not great. Deebo Samuel got hurt, so if you roster him, be sure to keep an eye on his status. Ronnie Bell might be a solid pick-up!

Well hello, Kareem Hunt. Welcome to the top of the leaderboards again! Kareem Hunt led the Browns in fantasy points this week. 47 rushing yards and 3 catches for 24 yards. He also found the endzone, giving him 16.1 points in week 6. Despite not having his QB1, Amari Cooper posted 14 points on 4 catches for 108 yards. If only he was able to catch a TD! Jerome Ford even reached double digits this week. 11.1 for him off of 84 rush yards and a couple of catches. Decent week for the Browns’ skill payers. Elijah Moore had 6.7, David Njoku scored 5.4 and P.J. Walker had a bad week with 3.7 points. The real MVP is Dustin Hopkins, however. He had 16 points from 4 field goals. Hell of a win from the Brownies!

Colts vs Jaguars

This was a tight game until the beginning of the second quarter. Travis Etienne Jr. had 2 rushing touchdowns within 2 minutes of game time early in the second quarter. Tough start for the Colts. Gardner Minshew could’ve had a crazy week, but he kept turning the ball over. He had 3 interceptions and a lost fumble. Hate to see it. Only 9.5 points for him this week, but could have been a much better day without the turnovers. Michael Pittman Jr. scored plenty of garbage time points. He had 9 catches for 109 yards giving him 19.9 points. Zack Moss continues to have impressive weeks. This week he had 17.9 points due to a lot of catches and a TD! Love to see it. Josh Downs was a popular stream this week, he got 13.1 points on 5 catches for 21 yards and a TD. His first in the NFL! If you were the manager who chose to wait patiently on Jonathan Taylor, at least he got you 11.5 points this week. Tough loss for the Colts.

How about Travis Etienne ladies and gentlemen?! 2 TDs on top of 83 scrimmage yards and 3 catches. Big 23.3-point week for Etienne! Brandon McManus came in and dropped a 17-point bomb this week. Can’t ask for much more from a kicker. Trevor Lawrence had the next-highest score. He had 14.7 from 181 passing yards, 2 TDs, and an interception. Christian Kirk led the receivers, he caught 3 passes for 49 yards and a score (13.9 pts). Seems like we are going to go back and forth between him and Ridley for who scored more points week-to-week. Evan Engram scored 11.1 points, he had 7 catches for 41 yards. Calvin Ridley took the backseat as the rest of the team took care of business this week. Ridley caught 4 passes for 30 yards. Shout out to Brenton Strange for finding paydirt this week!

Saints vs Texans

Despite only scoring 13 points, the Saints had a couple of players that had solid fantasy weeks. Rashid Shaheed was the high-scorer with 18 points. His stat line cracks me up. 2 receptions for 85 yards and a TD. Not far behind him was Alvin Kamara and his 17.4 points. 104 scrimmage yards and 7 catches. His PPR value since returning from suspension has been nuts. Chris Olave posted another solid week, too. Olave had 7 catches for 96 yards but no touchdown this week. Would’ve been a huge week if he got in there! Derek Carr also had 16 points. He threw for 353 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. Solid day overall, but the touchdowns need to be there.

C.J. Stroud may not have had the same kind of week he had been having in his rookie campaign, but he got the job done and got the W. 199 passing yards and 2 TDs later he wound up with 14 fantasy points. The story of the day for the Texans was Dalton Schultz. 16 points off of 4 receptions, 61 yards, and a TD. The only other fantasy-relevant score was Nico Collins who scored 12 points. He caught 4 passes for 80 yards. Dameon Pierce was outproduced by Devin Singletary, but neither had amazing weeks. Good win by the Texans, but I wish we had more fantasy production from them!

Patriots vs Raiders

Another low-scoring and brutal watch from this game. Jimmy G was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. He may have a spine/neck injury. Mac Jones with another “stellar” performance, threw for 200 yards and a pick. 5.9 points for Mac. Yikes. If you happen to be playing Kendrick Bourne this week with byes/injuries, he got you 19.3 points on 10 catches for 89 yards. Rhamondre Stevenson got things going this week. 18 points from him off of his 46 rushing yards, 5 catches for 24 yards, and a TD on the ground. He was a high draft pick for many, so for him to reach 18 points this week was huge. Zeke also had a decent week if you had to play him. He got 11.9 points and most of that was from his touchdown run. The Patriots are now 1-4 and it’s looking like a rebuild is in the near future.

The Raiders sealed the win in this game with a safety late in the 4th quarter. Jakobi Meyers had yet another impressive week. 5 catches for 61 yards and a touchdown. What more can you ask for from Jakobi Meyers? 4 out of 5 games he had played resulted in 15+ fantasy points. The rookie tight end, Michael Mayer, seems to be getting used to the NFL. Mayer caught 5 passes for 75 yards giving him 12.5 points. Would love for him to get his first TD soon. Josh Jacobs had an OK week if you ask me. 11 points on 77 rush yards and a few catches. No touchdown for him this week, but maybe next week!

 Cardinals vs Rams

The Cardinals did not have a good day. I won’t sugarcoat it. They stunk. It is very clear that James Conner is extremely valuable to the success of this offense. Sure, we can assume that, but seeing it in person is another thing. Joshua Dobbs was basically tied for the high-scorer with Trey McBride. Dobbs had 235 passing yards and a pick. Can’t forget the 47 rush yards. McBride caught 4 passes for 62 yards. After those two, it is a little baren. Michael Wilson had 9.2, Marquise Brown had 7.4 and Keaontay Ingram got 7.1 points. Lots of average weeks for the Cardinals’ players.

The Rams had much different days. Cooper Kupp was their MVP, he had 27.8 points off of 7 catches for 148 yards and a TD. His impact since his return from IR has been extremely noticeable. Sophomore running back, Kyren Williams, scored 21.8 points and he had 158 rushing yards and 1 TD. He hurt his ankle I believe, so pay attention to their RB situation! Stafford got 13.2 points so it wasn’t his best week but he walked out of week 6 with a victory and that’s all that matters in the end. Tough to see 6.6 points from rookie sensation, Puka Nacua, but he will bounce back. Simply wasn’t his week!

Eagles vs Jets

The Eagles could not seem to get things going on Sunday. Their fantasy scores were much better than their overall performance in the game. A.J. Brown continued his streak of massive games. He had 20.1 points thanks to his 7 catches for 131 yards. I wish he found the endzone. Jalen Hurts scored 19.9 points, but it could have been way more since he threw 3 interceptions. 280 passing yards, a passing TD, and a rushing TD for Hurts. also had 47 rushing yards. D’Andre Swift had a big game but most of it was in the passing game. 17.8 points, 18 rush yards but 8 catches for 40 yards and a score. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert had quieter weeks. They each scored 9 points for you this week. Tough loss for the Eagles, but I suppose if you’re going to lose, you may as well get it out of the way early.

J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! How ’bout them Jets? Led by none other than Breece Hall and his 20 fantasy points. I won’t lie, Breece was fortunate to get the touchdown he did. The Eagles clearly let him run it in so they could get the ball back. But hey, points are points! Hall had 93 scrimmage yards, 5 catches, and a TD. Love to see it. Garrett Wilson came back to life scoring 17 points this week. 8 catches for 90 yards for the young buck. After those two, it gets dark. Zach Wilson had 10.9 points on 186 passing yards. Awesome win for the Jets, who are now back at .500, and Rodgers is on his feet throwing the football already! What a world.

Lions vs Buccaneers

The Bucs came out of the bye week refreshed and rejuvenated…or so you would have thought. They looked quite like the opposite of that. Baker completed 19 of 37 passes for 206 yards and a pick. No touchdowns. This tells you how the rest of their offense did considering they scored 6 points. Chris Godwin was the leading scorer with 13.7 points. 6 catches for 77 yards for him. Mike Evans had 10 targets but was only able to connect on 4 of those. He caught 4 passes for 49 yards for 8.9 points. Baker came in at 6.8 points as did Rachaad White. Not a great week for the Bucs. On to week 7.

The Lions and Jared Goff played a much better game. Amon-Ra St. Brown had a HUGE week. He topped 30 points! 12 catches for 124 yards and a TD. He’s off to an amazing start this season. Goff put up 22 points and was nearly the QB1 on the week (pending MNF). 353 yards and 2 TDs certainly is a big day. Jameson Williams sighting! He caught a deep ball for a touchdown. In total, he had 2 catches for 53 yards and the TD (13.3 points). The unfortunate part about the Lions’ win was it cost them David Montgomery. He suffered what I believe is a cartilage injury in his ribs. Head coach, Dan Campbell, alluded to him being out for some time in his Monday presser. Hate to see that but love to see the Lions at 5-1.

Giants vs Bills

The ultimate barn burner this one was. The final score was 14-9 and the ending was rather questionable. What do you think? Should that have been a hold? If you didn’t see it, google it! I really don’t know how to analyze the Bills season. They smack the Dolphins but come close to losing to the Giants without Daniel Jones. Head scratcher for sure. The Giants leading fantasy scorer was Wan’Dale Robinson. He had 8 catches for 62 yards giving him 14.2 points. He was a last-minute flex play for me! Saquon returned from injury and scored 13.8 points. 93 rushing yards and a couple of catches on top of that. Rough day for the Giants.

The Bills got the W but that’s about all you can say for this week. Stefon Diggs led the way with 10 catches for 100 yards. No touchdown this week for him so he ended with 20 points. Josh Allen only having 169 passing yards is unusual. You would think maybe he had a massive rushing day. But nope. Just an off week for Josh Allen. 13.8 points for him after the 2 passing TDs. After those two, it is a wasteland of fantasy points. James Cook only had 7.1 points and all of that was rushing yards. Quintin Morris and Deonte Harty were in the top five in terms of fantasy points so that should tell you how their week went.

Cowboys vs Chargers

Austin Ekeler returned from injury so clearly the Chargers were going to get the job done, right? Nope. The Cowboys defense proved to be too tough for Kellen Moore’s offense. How ’bout that? Herbert had 227 yards passing with 2 TDs and an interception. This gave him 19 points this week, which is top 5 on the week believe it or not. Keenan Allen was the team’s MVP this week. 7 receptions for 85 yards and a TD. Love to see it. 21.5 points for Keenan off the bye week. Gerald Everett made some noise with 10 points but Austin Ekeler barely scored 10 this week. Not ideal. Another 10 points came from Joshua Palmer who is proving to be the #2 instead of Quentin Johnston. As far as I am concerned, Johnston is droppable. He is a decoy out there.

Dak had a big night in primetime! 272 yards, a TD in the air, and 40 rushing yards with a TD on the ground. He scored a whopping 24.8 points this week making him week 6’s QB1. Weird, right? CeeDee Lamb also had a good night. Racked up over 100 receiving yards on 7 catches. 117 yards to be exact. Lamb got 18.7 points this week. His second highest score this year. Tony Pollard didn’t have the best rushing night but he was involved in the passing game a good bit. 30 rush yards, 6 catches for 80 yards giving him 17 points this week. Praise the good fantasy lord Brandin Cooks has life! Cooks scored 15 points this week on 4 catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. All in all, a good week for Dallas players. Dallas wins the battle of LA.
