NFL Power Rankings Week 11

NFL Power Rankings

What a week! There were multiple electric games and upsets that kept fans on their toes. Detroit returned from a deficit that hasn’t been seen since Super Bowl LI. Denver lost on a blocked field goal from a player who is considered one of the strongest in the NFL. Baltimore survived a shootout against a Bengals team that remains one of the most inconsistent units in the NFL. It was truly a week for the ages.

This is why we watch football. There were so many headlines this week that I dare say could be dubbed the best week of the NFL season so far. And we still have eight more weeks to go! The season is flying by, but it sure has been a fun one. We have seen a running back revival, a tight end revival, and then regression back to the mean and an inconsistent year for quarterbacks.

Do we have the opportunity to see an undefeated season and a 3-peat Super Bowl champion? Are the quarterbacks from the 2023 draft class done? Is Caleb Williams one of the biggest busts in NFL history? Who knows. Football is crazy.

Quick Links

Biggest Riser: Dolphins/Panthers/Ravens (+5), Biggest Faller: Falcons (-7)

1. Kansas City Chiefs (2)

What was I thinking placing this team at #2? This Kansas City team is gritty. There is not a single reason the Chiefs should have won this game yet Leo Chenal makes an unbelievable play to move them to 9-0. Don’t count this team out, ever.

2. Detroit Lions (1)

While the Lions won, they had to make history to do it. The Lions were down 23-7 and proceeded to rattle off 19 unanswered points to win the game. Jake Bates hit another game-winning field goal too. How this team threw five interceptions and still won is beyond me.

3. Buffalo Bills (3)

Another week, another victory for the Bills. They dismantled an Indianapolis team that had lost its way fast. Josh Allen threw two interceptions, no touchdowns, and ran for one and still manufactured this team to a win. Say what you want, but he’s one of the best in the league.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers (7)

This will be a true test for the Steelers as they face the Ravens this week. They have yet to play the inter-divisional rivals and I expect it to be a good one. Russell Wilson and George Pickens have a great connection and I expect it to shine this week.

5. Baltimore Ravens (10) 🚀

As I just mentioned, Baltimore travels to Pittsburgh to decide who is the best in the AFC North. Baltimore has the better offense, but man oh man has their defense been a bit rough of late. They will have to be near perfect to keep the Steelers offense from thriving like they have been the last couple of weeks.

6. Washington Commanders (4)

A one-point loss to Pittsburgh is a tough pill to swallow, but there are so many good things happening in Landover. Terry McLaurin is finally able to play up to his potential and with Brian Robinson Jr. out, Austin Ekeler has shined. Expect a bounce-back this week.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (9)

Philly dismantled the hapless Cowboys and continues to push Washington for the lead in the NFC East. This team getting back to full health was all we needed to see to be reminded that this is one of the best teams in the league. Well, that and Saquon Barkley getting paid.

8. Minnesota Vikings (8)

At 7-2, you’d expect Minnesota to be leading their division. However, they currently sit second and only one game above third place due to the strength of the NFC North. It was an ugly win for Minnesota, but they won and are moving on to week 11 where they should get right against Tennessee.

9. San Francisco 49ers (11)

While San Francisco was only down 4, they beat a good Tampa Bay team. San Francisco may have lost Brandon Aiyuk for the year, but Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are stepping up in a big way. Christian McCaffrey is set to return this week and I expect the 49ers to go on a tear.

10. Green Bay Packers (5) 📉

Green Bay did nothing wrong as they were on a bye, but man the teams that are ahead of them just look much better. They’re still a top-10 team, but third in a close NFC North. The key to this team’s success is health. Something they’ve struggled with all year.

11. Los Angeles Chargers (12)

What more can be said about the Chargers? Jim Harbaugh has completely changed the culture of this team and they are already reaping the benefits. While Los Angeles may not compete for a Super Bowl this year, they are closer than they were a year ago.

12. Arizona Cardinals (15)

Say what you want, but Arizona is a legit contender. Their defense has stepped up in massive ways and carried their offense, which can be stagnant at times. Kyler Murray is finding a rhythm with Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr., but this is still in development.

13. Atlanta Falcons (6) 📉

When you lose to a New Orleans team that is so close to the bottom of this list, you are going to be the biggest faller. I don’t understand how this happened, especially with Bijan Robinson playing the way he did. I have to expect a bounce back next week, but who knows?

14.  Houston Texans (13)

A cataclysmic collapse only bested by the infamous 28-3 comeback in the Super Bowl, Houston had no right losing this game. When your defense forces five picks, there’s no reason to lose the game. Yet, the Texans found a way.

15. Los Angeles Rams (14)

I was bought in on the Rams after they rattled off three straight wins, but dropping one to a reeling Miami team is a tough look. The season isn’t over yet, but the Rams have to get back to their winning ways against a beatable New England team this week.

16. Denver Broncos (16)

A blocked field goal is a tough way to lose. Especially when you had the chance to ruin an undefeated season. Alas, life moves on and this Broncos team just continues to improve. Bo Nix looks like the real deal. If Denver can keep its defense intact and add playmakers on offense, watch out.

17. Seattle Seahawks (17)

Seattle was on a bye and therefore didn’t move up or down. With that being said, they still have a chance to claim the NFC West but they fumbled badly when the teams ahead of them were injured. That was their time to take a commanding lead and they just didn’t

18. Cincinnati Bengals (18)

A loss to a Ravens team by one point keeps the Bengals where they were at. Still, this team is just confusing. The offense and defense never work at the same time and that’s been the issue for not just this year, but the past couple of years.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (19)

Mike Evans has to come back ASAP. Baker Mayfield is playing out of his mind but he can only do so much with the playmakers that he is given. Tampa can still win the NFC South but it will take a massive shift.

20. Miami Dolphins (25)

A huge win on Monday Night Football vaults the Dolphins up the rankings. Tyreek Hill may end up with season-ending wrist surgery which would spell the end of the season for Miami. Still, it’s nice to see them compete.

21. New York Jets (20)

Looking ahead, what are the Jets going to do? They have a 40-year-old quarterback who is on his last legs. They have an aging wide receiver and an offensive line that is made of Swiss cheese. I can’t imagine being a Jets fan.

22. Dallas Cowboys (21)

How Jerry Jones can build a stadium that blinds his players is beyond me. Still, Dallas’ season is over with either Trey Lance or Cooper Rush at quarterback. Mike McCarthy might have had his last season as a head coach in this league.

23. Indianapolis Colts (23)

Joe Flacco was supposed to help this team. Flacco has not helped this team. Poor Anthony Richardson.

24. New England Patriots (28)

Drake Maye isn’t putting up gaudy numbers, but he is winning and that’s all that matters in the NFL.

25. Chicago Bears (22)

Caleb Williams will remain the starter and Shane Waldron is out. Let’s see what this team can do now.

26. New Orleans Saints (26)

How New Orleans won this game I’ll never know. The end of the “kicking the can” is upon us. Reap what you sow.

27. Carolina Panthers (32)

It’s crazy to think that Carolina rose this high but Bryce Young has been playing good football.

28. Cleveland Browns (24)

This defense was supposed to carry this team. Even on a bye, this team still drops.

29. Las Vegas Raiders (29)

Las Vegas having a bye week is the only reason this team didn’t move. Draft a quarterback.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars (30)

Trevor Lawrence could be done for the season which spells the end of a disappointing season in Jacksonville.

31. Tennessee Titans (31)

Calvin Ridley has been on a tear but this team is still bad. Please draft a quarterback.

32. New York Giants (27)

If you lose to the Panthers, you’re going to drop.
