Dolphins Switch Kicker Andrew Franks for Cody Parkey
Miami Dolphins kicker Andrew Franks seemed set to reprise his role as the team's kicker, especially when they didn't bring any competition for him in training camp. That all changed in a heartbeat when they released Franks on Sunday in favor of ex-Browns kicker Cody Parkey, who was cut himself days ago. Parkey lost out to rookie Zane Gonzalez in Cleveland, but has a Pro Bowl season under his belt in 2014 after breaking the rookie record for points with 150 that year. Franks was 29 for 37 in field goal attempts as the Dolphins' kicker the last two seasons and had a good preseason, which made the move somewhat surprising. Parkey doesn't figure to be draft-worthy as a starting kicker, but could serve as a decent streamer down the road.
