Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton had his eight-game suspension lifted on Tuesday. Sutton was suspended this offseason for violating the league's personal conduct policy following a domestic abuse incident in the Spring. Sutton will return to a Steelers defense that is once again near the top of the league. The unit is No. 9 in yards per game allowed and No. 2 in points per game allowed. Sutton last played in 2023 for the Detroit Lions. He recorded a career-high 65 tackles and caught one interception. Sutton spent the first six years of his career in Pittsburgh and returned to the team this past offseason. He will provide depth in a crowded cornerback room that includes Joey Porter Jr., Donte Jackson, and Beanie Bishop Jr.

Cameron Sutton Receives Eight-Game Suspension
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton is being suspended for the first eight games of the 2024 season, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov. The stems from Sutton's arrest related to a domestic violence situation. He was charged with misdemeanor battery after he turned himself in at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida on March 31. The 29-year-old struggled mightily last season with the Detroit Lions, and the team released him just before he turned himself in. He signed with Pittsburgh this offseason, where he spent the first six seasons of his professional career.

Cameron Sutton Turns Himself In
Free-agent cornerback Cameron Sutton, who has been wanted for weeks by police in Florida for his alleged involvement in a domestic-violence case, turned himself in on Sunday. Police had been unable to locate Sutton since March 7, when an arrest warrant was issued for him. His initial arrest warrant charged him with a felony, but prosecutors said on Monday that he was being formally charged with misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum one-year jail sentence. Sutton was released from jail on Monday on his own recognizance. The 29-year-old signed a three-year, $33 million deal with the Detroit Lions last year but was released by the team on March 21, the day after the team found out about the warrant for his arrest.

Cam Sutton Released By Lions
The Detroit Lions released cornerback Cam Sutton on Thursday, the team announced on X. According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Sutton has been sought for two weeks by police in Florida to answer for domestic violence allegations. The 29-year-old was originally a third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 and spent his entire career there before being signed by Detroit last season. It appears he will need to go through the legal process, and the serious allegations against him have the potential to end his time on the gridiron.
