Carson Strong Fantasy Stats

The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent quarterback Carson Strong to their practice squad on Tuesday after he worked out for the team last week, according to a source. The former undrafted free-agent signal-caller of the Philadelphia Eagles will now head to the desert for additional QB depth after starter Kyler Murray (knee) tore his ACL in the Monday night loss to the New England Patriots. Strong figures to be a candidate to be signed to a futures deal at the end of this season. Veteran backup Colt McCoy came on in relief of Murray on Monday night and should close out the year as the Cardinals' starter in the final four games, with Trace McSorley backing him up.

The Pittsburgh Steelers plan to host Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral and Nevada quarterback Carson Strong on Thursday. While Pittsburgh is taking a closer look at quarterbacks, they have options. After signing Mitchell Trubisky to a two-year deal, they do not necessarily need someone who can take the reins right away. It would not at all be surprising if Pittsburgh landed a quarterback on Day 1 or Day 2 of the draft, but they have glaring holes with their offensive line and run defense that need to be addressed with urgency. Corral is certainly seen as having a stronger quarterback pedigree than Strong, but if the team addresses other needs early, then Strong could be a fit as a Day 2 pick for the Steelers.
