Bills Agree To Three-Year Deal With Daryl Williams

The Buffalo Bills agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth up to $28.2 million ($9.4 million average) with offensive tackle Daryl Williams on Friday, according to sources. The deal includes nearly $14 million in guaranteed money. Williams came to Buffalo last year after spending five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He started 18 total games, including the playoffs, in his first year in Buffalo and was one of their key pieces along the offensive line in helping keep quarterback Josh Allen protected. The six-year veteran has started 61 of 79 career games in the NFL, including the postseason. He was a second-team All-Pro in 2017 and was drafted by Carolina in the fourth round back in 2015.

Daryl Williams Staying Put

The Carolina Panthers re-signed offensive tackle Daryl Williams to a one-year, $7 million deal on Wednesday, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 26-year-old is one of the better tackles in the NFL but is coming off a knee injury that held him to just one game last year. Williams was a second-team All-Pro in 2017 and his re-signing is definitely good news for quarterback Cam Newton and Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey.

Daryl Williams Can't Avoid Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers placed right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. He's expected to have surgery after injuring his right knee in the season opener against Dallas. Williams also tore his MCL and dislocated his patella on the same knee in the preseason. With Matt Kalil also hurt, this is bad news for a weak Panthers offensive line. It's not good for the team's rushing attack this early in the year. The offensive line could also have serious problems protecting quarterback Cam Newton.

Daryl Williams Needs Knee Surgery

Carolina Panthers right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) will need to undergo surgery on his right knee after re-injuring it in Week 1 against the Cowboys. The surgery was recommended by Dr. Pat Connor. Williams had suffered a different injury to the same knee in the preseason, so it's looking like Williams' 2018 season is already over. With left tackle Matt Kalil also out due to injury, Carolina's offensive line is in rough shape heading into Week 2.

Daryl Williams To Have MRI Monday

Carolina Panthers right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) will undergo an MRI exam on Monday to assess his injury. Head coach Ron Rivera said that Williams' injury in Week 1 against the Cowboys is different than the MCL tear and patella dislocation that he suffered in training camp, according to a league source. Williams had to be carted off the field, though, so this doesn't look like something he can come back from in time for Week 2. With left tackle Matt Kalil also out, Carolina's already thin offensive line could be in dire straights heading into next weekend, which would be bad news for the running game and quarterback Cam Newton.

Daryl Williams Looks Likely To Play

Carolina Panthers right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) looks good to play in Week 1 against the Cowboys, according to a source. He will see how he feels in warmups to be sure. Williams' diligent rehab over the last six weeks after suffering a dislocated kneecap has allowed him to be ready for the season opener. His presence on the line would be boost to the running game and for quarterback Cam Newton.

Daryl Williams Questionable

Carolina Panthers right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Cowboys. Williams has made a fast recovery from a gruesome knee injury, but don't be surprised if the team holds him out as a precaution. With left tackle Matt Kalil already out, Carolina's offensive line will be very shaky if Williams doesn't play as well. That'd be bad news for the Panthers running game and quarterback Cam Newton.

Daryl Williams Practicing Again Thursday

Carolina Panthers right tackle Daryl Williams (knee) is practicing again on Thursday. Williams is recovering quickly from a torn MCL and dislocated kneecap, but it's unrealistic for him to be ready for Week 1 against the Cowboys. Carolina's offensive line will be a weakness for them as long as Williams isn't playing.

Panthers, Daryl Williams Not Close To Extension

The Carolina Panthers and right tackle Daryl Williams face a "monster gap" financially in contract negotiations, according to a source close to the process. A league source said Tuesday that it would be "shocking" if the two sides agreed to an extension before training camp begins in July. Williams, a fourth-round pick in 2015, played every offensive snap last year and graded out as Pro Football Focus' highest rated right tackle. If the Panthers are smart they'll find a way to keep him around, as Williams is a huge plus for the team's running game.

Daryl Williams Extension A Priority

The Carolina Panthers are expected to reach a contract extension with right tackle Daryl Williams before the start of the regular season. He has developed into the team's most consistent linemen and has been a two-year starter at right tackle. Williams played every snap in 2017 and was ranked third among offensive tackles by Pro Football Focus. His presence in Carolina in the long term is good news for their running game.
