Eddie Royal Returns to Practice in a Limited Fashion, Currently Questionable for Week 10
Wide receiver Eddie Royal hasn't played since suffering a toe injury in Week 6, but he is finally making strides to returning to the field. He has returned to practice in a limited fashion, getting work in but not enough to tell if he'll be healthy enough for the Bears' Week 10 matchup against the Buccaneers. If Royal does play, he'll have a chance of fantasy relevance with the Bucs giving up the most points to wide receivers on the season. But with that a clear game-time decision as of now, he shouldn't be counted on in any leagues, especially with fellow receiver Cameron Meredith lurking around.
Eddie Royal Continues Not to Practice, Looks Unlikely to Suit Up Monday
Wide receiver Eddie Royal is still being hampered with a toe injury, keeping him out of practice for the second straight week as he heads into Week 9 doubtful to play. He missed last week's game with the same injury, suffered during the Bears' Week 7 game against the Jaguars. Royal has been banged up since his great Week 4 performance, keeping him from topping 50 yards or scoring a touchdown in since. With the Bears' Week 9 opponent a Vikings' team that is allowing the second-fewest points to wide receivers over the past four weeks, he's doing everyone a favor by being injured. Royal was already a deep and PPR leagues only pick, but with him missing more time, he's likely not worth holding onto in most of those leagues either.
Eddie Royal Misses Practice Again Friday, Will Be A Game-Time Decision
Well, isn't this a total bummer. After breaking out in Week 4 and set to produce big numbers in Week 5 with all his other fellow receivers hurt, wide receiver Eddie Royal may be too hurt himself to play. He is officially listed as questionable after missing all three practices this week with a calf injury. Coach John Fox didn't rule out Royal playing Sunday, saying "it's just a matter of if we deem we're better with him than without him. We have up to an hour-and-a-half before kickoff." Royal went from a sleeper pick to a possible bust. With his status fully uncertain now, be prepared to check up on this Sunday morning or make other plans now.
Eddie Royal Hoping To Be A Bigger Part Of Week 4's Offense, Deep League Option Only This Week
Wide receiver Eddie Royal didn't see many targets in Week 3, receiving only three despite Hoyer throwing the ball 49 times. After receiving six in each of the first two games--mostly thrown by injured quarterback Jay Cutler--it is a bit worrisome to see that number cut in half on such a pass-happy team. With a Week 4 matchup against the porous Lions' defense, Hoyer is easily going to throw over 40 passes again, which should in theory mean looks for Royal. But with fellow receiver Kevin White and tight end Zach Miller fully involved in the passing game along with main man Alshon Jeffery and running back Jordan Howard, Royal is a deep league play only this week.
