Carolina Panthers running back Elijah Hood (knee) suffered a knee injury in the preseason finale against the Steelers on Thursday. There's no update on how serious of an injury it is. It's not a good sign, though, as Hood was battling with the likes of Kenjon Barner and rookie Reggie Bonnafon to make the final roster.
The Carolina Panthers claimed running back Elijah Hood off waivers from the Raiders on Tuesday. Hood was a seventh-round pick by the Raiders last year and didn't see any action in his lone game in 2017. He's strictly a depth signing for the Panthers, who also signed C.J. Anderson recently to be their main early-down running back.
Oakland Raiders running back Elijah Hood has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster with Marshawn Lynch set to serve a one-game suspension in Week 8 against the Bills. Hood spent the first seven weeks of the season on the team's practice squad and is unlikely to have much of a role, if at all, against Buffalo on the road. Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington are expected to split the workload in Oakland's backfield for the game this weekend.
