Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Geremy Davis (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Packers. Davis hasn't been fantasy relevant with three catches for 38 yards in two games this year, but his absence will allow Andre Patton to emerge in three-receiver sets. There won't be enough to go around behind Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Hunter Henry and Austin Ekeler in the passing game, though. Perennially one of the most injured clubs in football, the Chargers have very little depth on their roster if they suffer an injury to one of their starters on offense.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Geremy Davis did his part in Week 1 of the preseason by making a highlight-reel touchdown catch, but head coach Anthony Lynn has told reporters that something he's looking for out of a deep receiver is their performance in the kicking game. He specifically said Davis didn't stand out on special teams last season, so you can believe that Davis will be working hard to try to be a special teams hero come Week 2 against the Seahawks. LA's receiving corps is very deep, but with their history of injuries, someone who starts the season at No. 5 on the depth chart could easily find themselves thrust into a starting role in no time.
The Los Angeles Chargers have already got a fearsome foursome at wide receiver, but Geremy Davis made the standout play amongst wideouts in the team's first preseason game. With the team trailing 14-3 in the third quarter, Davis made a phenomenal catch on 3rd-and-19 to score a touchdown and keep the Chargers in it. Davis' catch was a nice example of his skillset as he used his large frame and reach to pluck the ball over the defensive back, but unfortunately, he's got a tough row to hoe with how set the team is at his position. Even with this performance, there's no guarantee Davis breaks camp with the squad.
