Golden Tate Catches Giants Only Receiving Touchdown

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate hauled in the team's lone passing touchdown on Sunday, finishing with five catches for 68 yards. Tate saw fewer targets than the Giants' other wide receivers, but he has built up a good rapport with Daniel Jones and sees the higher percentage targets. The Giants will have a lot of passing options next year, and Tate's value could be hurt by a healthy Evan Engram, but he possesses a solid floor in PPR formats.

Golden Tate, Rhett Ellison Could Be Salary Cuts

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate and tight end Rhett Ellison could be salary cap cuts this offseason. Tate's 2020 salary isn't guaranteed because of his suspension for performance-enhancing drugs this year. The Giants could clear his $7.9 million salary off the books by cutting him, leaving only $2.3 million in dead money left. A restructure is the most likely, as rookie quarterback Daniel Jones needs all the targets he can get going into his second season. Ellison will be gone if head coach Pat Shurmur is relieved of his duties, and he might be gone anyway to clear $5 million off the books. Tate was WR2 in PPR leagues when both Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram were hurt, and the G-Men will likely want to keep him around for next season. Ellison played in only 10 games and had 18 catches for 167 yards and one touchdown. He's unlikely to find a starting job if he's on the open market.

Golden Tate In Prime Spot On Sunday

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate appears to be in a potential blow-up spot on Sunday against an Eagles Defense that ranks 28th in PPR points allowed to wide receivers over the last six weeks. Tate benefited from the return of Daniel Jones last week, leading the team with 11 targets. The slot receiver has proven to be Jones' primary target this season, which gives him a solid floor to pair with his potentially massive ceiling in a possible shootout. All that makes him an incredibly attractive option in DFS lineups this week and a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3 in season-long leagues.
