Golden Tate Has One Big Play Versus Dolphins

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate made his impact felt on one play on Sunday. The veteran slot receiver hauled in a 51-yard touchdown from Eli Manning for his only catch of the day on four targets. He's certainly taken a backseat to Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton and will be hard to trust with fantasy seasons on the line next week, even against the Redskins.

Golden Tate Too Risky on Sunday

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate is too risky an option for fantasy playoffs this week. The slot receiver came back last week and saw 88% of the team's snaps, which is in line with his usual output. However, in his first game ever with Eli Manning, he saw only 17% of targets, the same as Kaden Smith. With Darius Slayton emerging and Sterling Shepard seeing more snaps and targets than Tate, it's hard to trust the veteran's output, even in a nice matchup. He's playable as a WR4 in PPR leagues, but it's hard to be confident about putting him out there in much more.

Evan Engram, Golden Tate, Daniel Jones Limited In Practice

New York Giants tight end Evan Engram (foot), wide receiver Golden Tate (foot) and rookie quarterback Daniel Jones (ankle) were all limited in practice on Wednesday. Tight end Rhett Ellison (concussion) was also limited. Engram has been out since Nov. 4, but he'd be a solid TE1 option against the Dolphins this weekend if he's able to return. Rookie Kaden Smith has been holding down the fort. Cody Latimer would enter three-receiver sets if Tate is unable to play this weekend. Tate has a lowered fantasy ceiling with Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton also commanding looks in this offense. Jones was seen without a boot on his foot at practice. He's making progress but is expected to miss one more game. Even in a good matchup against Miami, Eli Manning would be a low-end QB2 if he makes another start.
