The Indianapolis Colts cut wide receiver Greg Ward on Sunday. The 29-year-old spent his entire career in Philadelphia, appearing in 40 games and amassing 768 yards off 88 catches. He also had 10 touchdowns, including six during the 2020-21 campaign. Ward signed with the Colts during the offseason. However, While things didn't work out in Indy, he may find work in the near future. With that said, he's not worth adding in any fantasy format, including dynasty setups.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward (leg) was forced to exit early during Saturday's preseason matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The 28-year-old was taken out of the game due to what is being called leg cramps. He walked off the field under his own power and this is believed to be a minor injury. Before exiting, Ward hauled in all five of his targets for 53 yards during Saturday's contest. Ward is looking to make the roster as a depth option behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. This performance should certainly help his case, assuming he avoided major injury.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receivers Greg Ward, Devon Allen and Tyrie Cleveland, cornerback Mario Goodrich, defensive ends Tarron Jackson and Matt Leo, offensive tackles Fred Johnson and Roderick Johnson, offensive guards Sua Opeta and Tyrese Robinson, linebacker Davion Taylor and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson to Reserve/Futures deals. Ward was initially signed by the Eagles as a rookie free agent in 2017. He began the 2022 campaign on Injured Reserve before being added to the practice squad in October. Ward was elevated to the active roster for the Super Bowl, but he didn't play at all and didn't see the field once in 2022. The 27-year-old has 88 receptions for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns in 40 games for the Eagles, but he's played only three seasons in the NFL.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward was elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Super Bowl. The expectation is that Ward will serve as insurance in the receiving game and as a kicker returner. The 27-year-old has barely been involved this season, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect much from Ward. DFS players can stay away from Ward even as a possible punt play for the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward (back) injured his back in Sunday's wild-card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. Ward didn't see a single target in the game before leaving, and with the Eagles down big and likely to lose to Tampa, Ward will finish his 2021 season with just seven receptions on 11 targets for 95 yards and three touchdowns in 18 games played. In a run-first offense, Ward didn't have much of a chance to put up numbers behind receivers DeVonta Smith, Quez Watkins and Jalen Reagor. In his three NFL seasons, Ward has produced 88 catches for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns on 130 targets over 40 games played.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward (back) was limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Barring a setback later this week, Ward should be good to go to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round of the postseason. The 26-year-old was targeted just 11 times all season in 17 games, catching seven of those targets for 95 yards and three touchdowns. Although he ranks second among Philly receivers with his three TDs, he's been sparingly used as the No. 4 pass-catcher for a run-first Eagles offense. Ward, who averaged 0.4 catches and 5.6 yards per game this year, will be a poor DFS option despite his basement price on DraftKings ($3,000) at his position.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward was targeted twice in a Week 17 win, making both catches for 35 yards. Ward's two targets left him fifth on the team, but he made the most of them by catching both balls thrown his way. Ward has been mostly playing on special teams this season, but has been solid in his bit role on offense. He's a valuable NFL player but not someone that should be rostered in most fantasy leagues.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward is not a fantasy starting option in Week 16. Ward scored a touchdown last week and was a somewhat popular waiver wire add because of it, but it was his first catch since Week 4 and he's much more likely to go back to barely appearing on offense than he is to score another touchdown. Fantasy managers with relevant Week 16 matchups likely weren't considering Ward anyway.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward showed up in Week 15 and caught a touchdown in a win over the Washington Football Team. Ward was targeted three times, catching two passes for 28 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. It was the first game since Week 4 that Ward had more than one pass thrown his way, so despite the touchdown, he won't be a recommended option in Week 16 lineups.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Greg Ward scored a touchdown in a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Ward was targeted twice, catching one pass for a 15-yard score. Ward actually out targeted Jalen Reagor, who only had one ball thrown his way. Despite scoring the touchdown though, Ward is clearly still fourth at best on the Eagles wide receiver depth chart, behind DeVonta Smith, Reagor, and Quez Watkins. Ward might pop up on the box score with a touchdown here and there, but he's not worth a roster spot in most fantasy formats.
