Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Isaiah Burse left Saturday's game early after suffering a head injury on the opening kickoff of the second half. Burse was ruled out for the rest of the game, and he was diagnosed afterward with a concussion. Burse is already dealing with a torn labrum, but concussions are always a major concern for players in today's game. Burse will have to pass concussion protocol before he can see the field again, and it's unlikely that he'll appear in the Chargers final preseason game.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Isaiah Burse got a chance to play with the first team on Tuesday, and head coach Anthony Lynn made a special note to compliment his performance afterward. He also explained to reporters that Burse was wearing a non-contact jersey because he suffered a torn labrum early in training camp. However, like Tyrell Williams did last season, Burse is planning on playing through the injury this year. Though the Chargers are deep at receiver on paper, Keenan Allen, Dontrelle Inman, and Mike Williams have all already been injured. Burse may be able to work his way into regular playing time.
