The Las Vegas Raiders waived wide receiver Isaiah Zuber on Wednesday. Zuber began his NFL career with the New England Patriots in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. He was active in just four games that year and caught both of his targets for 29 yards while also carrying the ball two times for 21 yards. The Raiders signed the 25-year-old pass-catcher to a Reserve/Futures deal back in January, but Zuber will now hit the open market to look for a new team before the 2023 season. He spent most of last year on the Raiders practice squad and hasn't played in an NFL game since 2020.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent wide receiver Isaiah Zuber to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to the team. The 25-year-old Mississippi State alum has been on the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets in the past year, and he made his NFL debut in 2020 with the New England Patriots, when he caught both of his targets for 29 yards in four games played. He was originally signed in 2020 by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent. In additional moves on Tuesday, the Raiders placed defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, cornerback Trayvon Mullen and defensive tackle Bilal Nichols on the Physically Unable to Perform list to open training camp.
New England Patriots wide receiver Isaiah Zuber was one of a handful of cuts during Tuesday's push to make a final 53-man roster. Zuber was cut alongside fellow wideout Kristian Wilkerson. However, the Pats have brought back Wilkerson, but on the practice squad. Zuber remains without a roster spot, but Wilkerson did outplay him during the preseason. Possibly, Zuber can be a depth option elsewhere, but his chances of having fantasy value are slim to none.
New England Patriots wide receiver Isaiah Zuber is battling for a spot on the final 53-man roster to begin the season. He gave the coaching staff something to think about after Sunday's preseason finale. Zuber finished with four receptions for 50 yards and one touchdown in the win over the New York Giants. It was a nice outing, but Zuber would be buried on the roster, assuming he makes the team. There won't be stash value here since it would take quite a few injuries for him to even have a role in New England. Possibly, Zuber makes the roster, but it's unlikely he'll have a legitimate role in fantasy leagues during the 2021 season.
