Jason Croom Could Be Lost For The Season

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jason Croom (knee), who was carted off early in the preseason game against the New England Patriots on Thursday, is feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury, according to a source. Croom is undergoing an MRI exam to confirm. The 27-year-old played in just four games for the Eagles last season and caught his only target for a three-yard touchdown, but this is a hit to Philly's tight end depth with the regular season quickly approaching. Although Zach Ertz remains on the roster, Dallas Goedert is the tight end to own in Philadelphia in 2021. Goedert was on pace to finish as a top-10 fantasy tight end in 2020, if not for his injury, and he has the potential to return value as a low-end TE1 if Ertz eventually leaves town.

Jason Croom Catches A Touchdown In Week 6

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Jason Croom, signed off the practice squad this week, caught his only target in Week 6 for a three-yard touchdown. Croom played 15 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2018 before spending all of 2019 on IR after getting hurt in the preseason. He was the top pass-catching tight end in Buffalo in 2018 and has a tiny sparkle of upside if he takes over for Richard Rodgers as the passing game option at tight end behind Zach Ertz. For now, Croom is worth a thought in deep two-tight end leagues, but certainly isn't close to starting value yet.

Bills Re-Sign Jason Croom

The Buffalo Bills re-signed tight end Jason Croom to a one-year deal on Saturday. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Croom spent all of the 2019 season on Injured Reserve after he lead the team's tight ends in 2018 in catches (22) and yards (259) as a rookie. He'll be a valuable depth option at the position for Buffalo in 2020 behind Dawson Knox, Tyler Kroft, Lee Smith and Tommy Sweeney. You can ignore him for fantasy purposes.

Jason Croom Injured In Practice This Week

Buffalo Bills tight end Jason Croom was seen walking off the practice field with a trainer during organized team activities on Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. Running backs Frank Gore (ankle, foot) and T.J. Yeldon (groin) are also nursing injuries. Gore was limited while Yeldon sat out. With tight end Tyler Kroft (foot) out three to four months with a fractured foot, Buffalo's tight end room is already shrinking. Rookie Dawson Knox could be forced into significant playing time in his first season, although he won't be worth drafting in most fantasy leagues. Lee Smith could also see a big role early on in the year, depending on the severity and type of injury Croom is dealing with.

Jason Croom Is Someone To Keep An Eye On Next Year

Buffalo Bills tight end Jason Croom had two receptions on four targets for 32 yards in Week 17's win over the Dolphins. The undrafted rookie finished the season strong as hauled in 13 of his 22 catches over the last half of the season. He closed his first year with 259 receiving yards and one touchdown. The 24-year-old finished tied for third on the team with five catches of at least 20 yards. With Charles Clay, who finished up an extremely disappointing year as a healthy scratch on Sunday, possibly not returning in 2019, Croom could end up as the Bills starter next year. If the Tennessee product is the starter next year, he is at least worth a look by fantasy owners.

Jason Croom A Possible Streaming Option In Week 17

Buffalo Bills tight end Jason Croom set a career-high with four receptions on six targets for 55 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. The 24-year-old once again had a 20-yard reception giving him four such plays on the season but he also lost a fumble for a second time this year. He has 10 catches as he has been targeted 15 times over the six weeks for 126 yards. With the status of Charles Clay unknown, Croom is a possible streaming option in Week 17 against the Dolphins. Miami allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends and the 12th most PPR as the Dolphins have given up nine touchdowns to them, which is the third most in the league.

Jason Croom Could Be A Sneaky Play At Tight End

Buffalo Bills tight end Jason Croom has seen his most extensive action over the last three games with starter Charles Clay hampered by a hamstring injury. The undrafted rookie has been on the field for at least 46 percent of the team's offensive plays during this three games stretch, where he has brought in five passes for 56 yards. He had two receptions on three targets for 16 yards last week against the Jaguars, although his biggest play of the day was wiped out by a penalty. The Tennessee product also recorded his first-ever red zone target in Week 12. With Clay questionable, it may be Croom's time to have a career night in Week 13 as the Dolphins are giving up the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends as well as a league-high eight touchdowns.
