The Las Vegas Raiders signed former Houston Texans wide receiver Jordan Veasy to an undisclosed deal on Friday. Veasy has been on the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills, Washington Commanders and Texans over the last three years, but he has played in only two games, both coming last year in Houston. The 26-year-old played a total of 24 offensive snaps and 26 special teams snaps in those two appearances in 2021. The former Cal wideout will attempt to win a roster spot with the Raiders in training camp this summer.
Following Wednesday's trade that sent Randall Cobb to Green Bay, the Houston Texans have made another move at wide receiver, signing free agent Jordan Veasy. Veasy has bounced around training camps and practice squads since 2018, but has never appeared in an NFL game. It would be surprising to see that change in 2021, as Houston still has a lot of players at wideout who Veasy would have to jump over in camp. Even if Houston's receivers after Brandin Cooks aren't great, Veasy hasn't shown anything over the last three years to suggest he can earn a roster spot once the regular season arrives.
