Josiah Deguara News
Green Bay Packers tight end Josiah Deguara (calf) did not practice on Thursday at training camp due to a calf injury. Consider him day-to-day for now. With Robert Tonyan moving to the Chicago Bears in the offseason, the team's top tight end spot is up for grabs. The 26-year-old Deguara had just 12 receptions in 2022, and he has only 39 receptions on 50 targets for 371 yards and two touchdowns in his three NFL seasons. It's more likely that rookies Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are the more targeted options at the position this year. And now that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is no longer with the Cheeseheads, the tight end position in Green Bay won't be nearly as attractive in fantasy circles.
Green Bay Packers tight end Josiah Deguara was only targeted one time in the 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night in the preseason finale, and he failed to haul it in. Deguara had a total of three catches for 23 yards on six targets in the preseason. With Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis also in the fold, Deguara is unlikely to see enough looks to be fantasy relevant, even in the deepest of leagues. In his two seasons in Green Bay, the 25-year-old has caught only 26 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns on 33 targets, with the vast majority of that production coming last year.
Green Bay Packers tight end Josiah Deguara caught one of his two targets for 11 yards during their 20-10 win over the Saints on Friday. Deguara began the game with the starters and was targeted once on each of the Packer's first two drives. The final line is not particularly impressive but he still appears to be the leading candidate to be their starter until Robert Tonyan (knee) is healthy. Tonyan was recently activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, which signals progress but does guarantee he'll be on the field for Week 1. Deguara is familiar with the system and could be involved early in the year until Tonyan reaches full health, making him a potential streamer who will go undrafted in most leagues.
