Packers Elevate Juwann Winfree For Week 1

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Juwann Winfree has been elevated to the active roster and will be available for the Week 1 clash against Minnesota. With Allen Lazard (ankle) doubtful for the season opener, the team made the move to bolster its receiving corps. Winfree had a decent preseason, so he may get some attention from Aaron Rodgers during the divisional clash. However, even with the potential for increased production, only the most desperate fantasy managers should consider starting him.

Juwann Winfree Falls Flat In Final Preseason Game

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Juwann Winfree caught only one of his six targets for seven yards in the 17-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the team's preseason finale on Thursday night. Even though the Packers don't have much experienced depth at the receiver position heading into the 2022 season, Winfree could be on the roster bubble. If he does make the team, he'll be well off the fantasy radar while being buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb and rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. The 25-year-old former sixth-round pick caught eight passes on 13 targets for 58 yards and no touchdowns in seven games for the Packers in 2021.

Juwann Winfree Turning Heads At Packers Camp

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Juwann Winfree has been one of the offensive bright spots for the Packers thus far through training camp. He continues to make plays during drills and has showed nice separation to get open in a potent Green Bay offense. There is a current log-jam at receiver for the Packers at this time as Devin Funchess, Equanimous St. Brown, Malik Taylor and Winfree fight for roster spots on the team. Preseason games are right around the corner and Winfree will have to flash in-game if he wants to keep his current momentum going.

Juwann Winfree Making A Run For A Roster Spot

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Juwann Winfree, a former sixth-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2019, caught plenty of passes in organized team activities and minicamp this spring and looks to be making a strong run at a spot on the active roster. Winfree has played in just five career NFL games, though, and the Packers top four wide receivers are set -- Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Allen Lazard and rookie Amari Rodgers. The 24-year-old also likely stood out this spring with all of Green Bay's starting wideouts skipping voluntary workouts. Nevertheless, Winfree is worth keeping an eye on in training camp to see if he can keep his positive momentum from offseason practices.

Juwann Winfree Hauls In Three Catches

Denver Broncos wide receiver Juwann Winfree hauled in three of four targets thrown his way Thursday evening, tallying 46 yards on the night. The rookie out of Colorado has had a slow preseason but should find himself on the final roster for the Broncos. It is tough to see Winfree getting high volume in a solid receiving corps this year, but he is an intriguing young prospect to keep an eye on.

Juwann Winfree Finds The End Zone Against Atlanta

Denver Broncos wide receiver Juwann Winfree helped lead his team to a victory over the Atlanta Falcons during the Hall of Fame Game in Canton on Thursday night. The 22-year-old rookie was targeted twice on the night and came up big on his lone reception by scoring a 15-yard touchdown from quarter Brett Rypien with 1:26 left in the final quarter. Though his trip to the end zone was an encouraging sign, he has little fantasy value at the moment as he will continue to battle for a spot on the team's 53-man.

Juwann Winfree Could Be No. 5 Receiver

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Juwann Winfree could become the team's No. 5 wideout this year behind Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, Daesean Hamilton and Tim Patrick. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver will have a better shot if he stands out on special teams. The only chance that Winfree has of being relevant in single-year formats is if injuries occur ahead of him. Even then, he probably wouldn't be an option in most standard-sized leagues.
