The New England Patriots signed free-agent wide receiver Kawaan Baker to a Reserve/Futures contract on Tuesday. Baker did not play at all with an NFL team this past season after originally being a seventh-round selection by the New Orleans Saints in 2021 out of South Alabama. The 25-year-old was active for two games in his rookie season in New Orleans but didn't draw a single target and only played on special teams. Baker will head to New England in their first season without head coach Bill Belichick in the last 25 years, and he'll attempt to win a roster spot in training camp and the preseason as depth at the receiver position.
With the 255th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints have selected South Alabama wide receiver Kawaan Baker. A slot receiver with some nice speed, Baker had 51 receptions for 659 yards and eight touchdowns last year. He could be used as a gadget player and see some work in the backfield, but he'll be facing an uphill battle to get touches on this team. He should probably not be on your fantasy radar.
