The New England Patriots signed free-agent running back Kenneth Farrow to their practice squad on Wednesday and released wide receiver Jace Billingsley in a corresponding move. Farrow didn't play at all in the NFL in 2017 and has just 60 carries for 192 yards (3.2 yards per carry) in his only season with the Chargers in 2016.
The Los Angeles Chargers waived running back Kenneth Farrow and place kicker Nick Rose on Friday. Farrow was on Injured Reserve all of last season. Rose's release means Caleb Sturgis and Roberto Aguayo will compete for the kicking job this summer.
Kenneth Farrow looked slightly better in Week 16 until he left the game with a shoulder injury in the second half. He was able to return, but he was ineffective for the rest of the game. In total, Farrow carried the ball nine times for 28 yards, and he chipped in four catches for another 29 yards. On Tuesday, San Diego placed him on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury, and his season is done.
Melvin Gordon Ruled Out for Week 15; Kenneth Farrow Expected to Be Main Filler
Melvin Gordon's hip and knee strains have forced him out for Week 15, though they are not considered season-ending, according to Michael Gehlken. Owners should be glad that his injuries aren't season-ending, and if he can come back next week, he'll get to face Cleveland, a dream matchup. For this week though, owners will need to look elsewhere. The main handcuff here is Kenneth Farrow, though there's been talk of Ronnie Hillman poaching some carries as well.
