The Tennessee Titans signed free-agent quarterback Kevin Hogan to their practice squad on Tuesday, according to a source. Hogan was cut by the Houston Texans in August but will return to Tennessee after spending the 2021 season with them. The 30-year-old was active for just one game last year but didn't get on the field. In his three NFL seasons, Hogan has gone 60-for-101 for 621 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions in nine games (one start), with all his stats coming in his first two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Hogan will provide some more depth at the QB position behind starter Ryan Tannehill and rookie backup Malik Willis.
The Chicago Bears are working out quarterbacks Kevin Hogan and Kyle Sloter, running back C.J. Prosise and wide receiver Rodney Adams on Monday. Hogan and Prosise are the most notable names on this list. Hogan was released by the Broncos last year and hasn't attempted a pass since 2017 with the Browns after being a fifth-round pick of the Chiefs in 2016. Prosise, a third-rounder by the Seahawks in 2016, worked out for the Lions recently and would be providing depth to Chicago's backfield. The 26-year-old had 65 carries for 264 yards and two touchdowns for Seattle from '16 to '19 in 25 games played.
Denver Broncos quarterback Kevin Hogan struggled in the team's final preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday evening. Hogan completed 52% of his passes, totaling 138 yards and one touchdown, to accompany a disappointing two interceptions. This was most definitely not the performance the Hogan was looking for as roster cuts loom, but regardless of his position on the roster, he holds no fantasy relevance this season.
Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said that quarterbacks Kevin Hogan and Brett Rypien "will get the bulk of the play, it not all of it" against the Rams in the preseason game on Saturday and against the Cardinals next Thursday in the preseason finale. Rookie Drew Lock (thumb) is likely to miss Week 1 and beyond with a sprained thumb. Hogan and Rypien will be competing to see who wins the backup job behind Joe Flacco to begin the start of the season, but Lock had looked good before his injury and could still see starts later this year. Hogan and Rypien can be ignored for fantasy purposes, but Lock is still a fine asset to have in dynasty leagues.
Kevin Hogan Claimed On Waivers, Paxton Lynch Released
The Denver Broncos cut former first-round quarterback Paxton Lynch on Sunday after claiming quarterback Kevin Hogan off waivers from the Redskins. Lynch had been a first-round bust for the Broncos and fell to third on the depth chart in training camp behind Case Keenum and Chad Kelly. Lynch was 1-3 and went 79-for-128 for 792 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions in five appearances (four starts) for the Broncos.
Washington Redskins quarterback Kevin Hogan is very much on the roster bubble heading into training camp as the third quarterback behind starter Alex Smith and backup Colt McCoy. Smith has been extremely durable in his career, so the 'Skins probably have no need to carry three QBs. Hogan played in four games for the Browns each of the last two seasons but has completed under 60 percent of his passes with a combined four touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Washington Redskins acquired quarterback Kevin Hogan and a sixth-round pick from the Cleveland Browns on Friday in exchange for a sixth-round pick. Hogan played in parts of four games (one start) for the Browns in 2017 and had four touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 61.3 percent of his passes. He'll compete for the backup job behind Alex Smith with Colt McCoy. Hogan is not a lock to make the final roster.
According to a report by NFL network's Ian Rapoport, Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Kevin Hogan has requested and received permission to look for a trade out of Cleveland. Hogan has flashed as a fill-in for the Browns over the past few seasons but his skill set suggests that he's best suited as a backup. Hogan clearly sees the writing on the wall in Cleveland, which has already added Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton to their quarterback corps and will almost certainly draft a rookie signal-caller in the upcoming NFL draft. That would leave Hogan as fourth on the depth chart, a fact that is surely playing into his desire to be traded.
Browns To Decide Between Kevin Hogan And DeShone Kizer By Wednesday
According to head coach Hue Jackson, the Cleveland Browns are expected to make a starting quarterback decision by Wednesday. The team benched previous starter DeShone Kizer following Week 5 but his replacement, Kevin Hogan, did not perform well in Week 6. Despite neither player being a very inspiring option to lead the offense, at least the team will make a decision on who will start early in the week. Cleveland will face off against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Kevin Hogan failed to impress in his first NFL start. The second-year signal caller struggled badly in Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, completing just 20-of-37 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. He also added five rushes for 36 yards. Hogan struggled badly with his accuracy all night, overthrowing several of his intended targets and floating a few passes, which gave Houston defenders time to make plays on the ball. While nothing is official as of yet, Hogan's time as Cleveland's starting quarterback may be short-lived. There's a chance head coach Hue Jackson turns back to DeShone Kizer for Week 7's matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Even if Hogan does start, he will be hard to trust, even in deep, two-quarterback leagues.
