Bears Put Lachavious Simmons On COVID-19 List

The Chicago Bears placed offensive lineman Lachavious Simmons on the Reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's Week 9 game against the Titans. Simmons will not play this weekend after testing positive for coronavirus on Saturday, according to a source. The good news for the Bears is that he had no high-risk contacts, so no other players from Chicago will be forced to sit out on Sunday. The game between the Bears and Titans will go on as scheduled.

Bears Grab Lachavious Simmons as Depth

The Chicago Bears have selected Tennessee State offensive guard Lachavious Simmons with the No. 227 pick during the seventh round. The Bears have been making some questionable calls during the draft, and this adds to the list. Simmons is versatile, but needs to improve his quickness and strength. He's not someone who is ready to play in the NFL, but the Bears are just hopeful he can develop his game. Simmons is not expected to make much of an impact in 2020.
