Latavius Murray News
Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray ended the season strong on Sunday in the 31-28 win over the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers in the Week 18 regular season finale, going for 103 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Murray also caught his only target for 15 yards. The 32-year-old veteran back pretty much took over lead-back duties after Javonte Williams (knee) suffered a season-ending injury earlier this year, and he finished with 160 carries for 703 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and five touchdowns in 12 games. He also had 26 receptions for 124 extra yards. Murray will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but his work for Denver in 2022 should allow him to latch on with another team. If the Broncos re-sign him, he'll be veteran insurance behind Williams.
Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray will finish the 2022 season as the team's lead back in a Week 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. In his debut with Denver back in Week 6 in the first meeting with the Bolts, Murray handled 15 carries for 66 yards. The Chargers defense has been vulnerable on the ground this year, giving up the sixth-most rushing yards per game (142.1) while surrendering the eighth-most half-PPR points to RBs per contest. It's a solid matchup in the regular season finale, but Murray is averaging just over four yards per carry and has found the end zone four times in 11 games for the Broncos low-scoring offense. Despite an intriguing matchup, Murray remains a low-upside, touchdown-dependent RB3 for fantasy managers.
Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray was efficient in the Week 17 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but he failed to find the end zone on 16 touches. He led the backfield with 12 carries for 56 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and had a season-high-tying four receptions for an additional 16 yards on six targets. The 32-year-old veteran running back continued to lead the Broncos' backfield, but there just wasn't much to be had on the ground against Kansas City's defense in this one. Backfield mate Chase Edmonds handled seven carries and also caught all three of his targets. It was nice to see Murray get more involved in the passing attack, but there's no guarantee that will continue in the regular season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
