Malik Cunningham News
Baltimore Ravens quarterback turned wide receiver Malik Cunningham hasn't looked out of place as he makes the position transition in offseason workouts, although he still probably faces an uphill battle to make the final roster out of training camp. Cunningham made a few plays in just about every practice this offseason and has shown good awareness and quickness. The amount of one-on-one attention he's gotten from head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Todd Monken indicates that they see potential in Cunningham at his new position. The 25-year-old won't be a fantasy consideration entering the 2024 season, but the fact that Baltimore's receiving depth isn't all that great gives him a fleeting chance to make an impact this year.

Malik Cunningham Making The Move From QB To Receiver
The Baltimore Ravens have officially moved former quarterback Malik Cunningham to wide receiver this offseason after signing him off the New England Patriots' practice squad last December to reunite him with former college teammate Lamar Jackson. Last year, the Ravens cross-trained Cunningham as a QB, receiver and special teams contributor, and he played in one game, taking four snaps at receiver in the Week 18 regular season finale. At organized team activities this spring, the Ravens are immersing the 25-year-old at the receiver position, and the Ravens think he has transitioned well to wideout. Cunningham has the athleticism, but he still faces an uphill battle to stick at the position. If anything, he'll likely continue to be a special teams option for Baltimore in 2024.

Malik Cunningham Shifts To Wide Receiver
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Malik Cunningham has officially transitioned to wide receiver, according to his listing on the team's website. The Louisville product even hauled in some passes during Thursday's OTAs. This move has been roughly a year in the making for Cunningham, who previously drew attention thanks to his athleticism and flashy playing style last preseason with the New England Patriots. The Patriots were reportedly interested in using him at both quarterback and wide receiver, but they ultimately made him active for just one game and deployed him under center. The Ravens poached him from the Patriots' practice squad in December, but he only appeared in one game with Baltimore, too. In theory, though, this official switch to wide receiver could allow Cunningham to carve out more opportunities, even if it's in a depth role. With most teams carrying around a half-dozen receivers on their 53-man rosters, there's a chance that Cunningham could be active in Week 1. Of course, that's dependent on him producing throughout training camp and the preseason. Even if he does make the team, he's unlikely to generate any fantasy appeal.

Ravens Adding Malik Cunningham To Their Roster
The Baltimore Ravens are signing rookie quarterback Malik Cunningham off the New England Patriots' practice squad on Tuesday and onto their active 53-man roster. Cunningham and Lamar Jackson were teammates at Louisville for one season in 2017. The 25-year-old rookie never really got involved in New England's offense in his first year in the NFL and only saw action in one game despite the Patriots' horrible quarterback play in 2023. He's going to mostly be a developmental prospect with speed for the Ravens, as they already have Jackson, Tyler Huntley and Josh Jackson at the position in Baltimore.

Malik Cunningham Elevated On Saturday
New England Patriots quarterback Malik Cunningham has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Patriots are shaking it up and starting Bailey Zappe during Sunday's game. However, the coaching staff has mentioned they've put together a package of plays for Cunningham. The expectation is that Cunningham will get a handful of snaps and mainly be used as a runner. For fantasy purposes, both Zappe and Cunningham can be ignored this week.

Malik Cunningham Returns To New England's Practice Squad
New England Patriots quarterback/wide receiver Malik Cunningham is re-signing with the team's practice squad. The rookie was released by the Patriots earlier this week. His release coincided with the elevation of wide receiver Jalen Reagor as the team navigates injuries to their skill position players. Cunningham has only made one appearance this season, playing six offensive snaps against the Las Vegas Raiders. When he was called up to the active roster for that game, he received a three-year contract extension. Cunningham should only be rostered in deep dynasty formats.

Malik Cunningham Waived By The Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Malik Cunningham has been waived by the team. The rookie QB made just one appearance in the regular season with New England before being waived. After starting quarterback Mac Jones' stellar performance in Week 7 against the Bills, New England seemingly didn't have a need for another backup signal-caller. Bailey Zappe and Will Grier are already on the roster so there was no point holding on to Cunningham as well. The former Louisville Cardinal will likely sign with another team's practice squad in the coming weeks.

Bailey Zappe Active Over Malik Cunningham Sunday
New England Patriots quarterback Malik Cunningham (coach's decision) is inactive for Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills. Bailey Zappe is active as the backup to Mac Jones. It's an interesting development after Cunningham was active versus the Raiders last week and played six snaps. This time around, though, it'll be Zappe as the No. 2, Will Grier as the emergency third quarterback, and Cunningham ineligible to play.

Malik Cunningham Heads To Active Roster
New England Patriots quarterback Malik Cunningham has reportedly been signed to the active roster. The rookie quarterback has signed a three-year deal with the Pats instead them elevating him to the active roster. The expectation is that Cunningham is going to be involved in the offense going forward. It's unclear how much the Patriots plan to use Cunningham, so fantasy managers don't need to scramble to the waiver wire yet. The rookie signal-caller could very well be involved in some capacity in the upcoming Week 6 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he probably won't have fantasy value right away.

Malik Cunningham Could Be Part Of Game Plan Against Raiders
New England Patriots rookie quarterback/wide receiver Malik Cunningham has been part of the team's game plan this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. However, with seven players already ruled out and 10 more listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Vegas, the Patriots might need to use Cunningham's promotion/activation from the practice squad to the active roster on another position. "He's a smart kid, works hard, and the opportunities he's had, he's shown a lot of improvement," head coach Bill Belichick said. Those wondering if Cunningham will replace Mac Jones under center can probably keep dreaming, but the 25-year-old could be used as a utility weapon for a Pats offense that will be without receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas due to concussions. He was a dual-threat QB in college and has some rushing upside.
