Marcedes Lewis News
Free-agent tight end Marcedes Lewis agreed to a one-year deal with the Bears. The veteran, who will be entering his 19th NFL season, played for the Jaguars and Packers before spending last season with Chicago. However, he didn't do much for fantasy managers, amassing just four catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. With Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett on the roster, Lewis should continue to have a tough time getting involved, meaning he won't see much attention from fantasy managers heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Marcedes Lewis Plans To Re-Sign With Chicago
According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, free agent tight end Marcedes Lewis will visit with the Bears on Monday. If all goes according to plan, he will sign a new contract. The veteran has spent time with the Jaguars and Packers before spending 2023 with Chicago, where he amassed just four catches for 29 yards and a touchdown. This will be season No. 19 for Lewis, assuming he signs. However, the Bears have Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett on the roster, so Lewis isn't expected to find a spot on many fantasy rosters during the 2024-25 campaign.

Marcedes Lewis Signs With Bears
The Chicago Bears have signed tight end Marcedes Lewis to a one-year deal. Lewis is heading into his 18th season which will break a tie with Jason Witten and Tony Gonzalez for the most ever played by a tight end. The 39-year-old last played with the Green Bay Packers last season. He played a minimal role where he hauled in six receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games. The expectation is that he'll mainly be a depth option and a veteran presence in the locker room.

Marcedes Lewis Drawing Interest From Jets, Raiders
Free agent tight end Marcedes Lewis is rumored to be drawing interest from the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders during the legal tampering period of the 2023 free agency. Lewis could join Aaron Rodgers in New York if Rodgers finally decides to accept a trade there, but time will tell. After a 12-year career in Jacksonville, the 38-year-old tight end has spent the last five seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He has caught 57 of his 75 targets for 582 yards and six touchdowns during that span. He is primarily a blocking tight end, so he won't be on the fantasy radar no matter where he lands.

Packers Put Marcedes Lewis On COVID-19 List
The Green Bay Packers placed tight end Marcedes Lewis and linebacker Oren Burks on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. There's a chance they could both clear the league's COVID protocols by Sunday, but it remains to be seen if that will happen. Splitting time and targets with Josiah Deguara, Lewis hasn't become a fantasy relevant streamer at the weakest position despite the season-ending injury to Robert Tonyan earlier this year. Lewis has 23 catches (27 targets) for 214 scoreless yards in 15 games played. But if Lewis is out in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings, who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the position in the last three weeks, Deguara would become a more attractive TE2.

Marcedes Lewis - Week 11 Outlook for Fantasy Football
Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis faces the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11 after catching two passes for 10 yards in the Week 10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He logged 57% of the offensive snaps last Sunday and is the Packers' primary tight end with Robert Tonyan (knee) out for the season. The Vikings have been stingy against opposing tight ends and have yet to surrender a touchdown to the position this season. Lewis is mainly used in blocking situations, and fantasy managers can search elsewhere for a TE streamer in Week 11.

Marcedes Lewis - Week 10 Outlook for Fantasy Football
Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis was targeted once and caught one pass for minus-one yard in Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Chiefs. He led the Packers tight ends in offensive snaps (46%), out-snapping teammates Dominique Dafney (40%) and Josiah Deguara (24%). Lewis is Green Bay's primary tight end with Robert Tonyan (knee) out for the season. The 37-year-old owns only four percent of the team's targets and is in a timeshare with Dafney and Deguara. Fantasy managers can search elsewhere for a streaming tight end, as Lewis is a dart throw, at best, in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Marcedes Lewis - Week 9 Outlook for Fantasy Football
Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis is in line for more work after starter Robert Tonyan was diagnosed with a torn ACL. He logged 31-of-73 snaps (42%) in last Thursday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers will be without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was ruled out in Week 9 after testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. Lewis has hauled in nine catches on 11 targets for 108 yards over games in 2021. The 37-year-old is the Packers' primary tight end, but Josiah Deguara and Dominique Dafney could also see an expanded role while Tonyan is out. Lewis is a deep-league option at best against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Packers Re-Sign Tight End Marcedes Lewis
The Green Bay Packers re-signed tight end Marcedes Lewis to a two-year, $8 million deal that includes $2.1 million guaranteed. Lewis has spent the last three seasons in Green Bay and caught only 10 passes for 107 yards three touchdowns in his 15th season last year. The Packers also signed long snapper Joe Fortunato on Wednesday. Lewis was mainly used as a blocker in 2020, with Robert Tonyan serving as the team's primary pass-catching tight end. Green Bay also has Jace Sternberger in the fold at the position, so Lewis will return to the same role he had last season. The former first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2006 has recorded 28 catches on 40 targets for 302 yards and four touchdowns in his three seasons with the Packers. He can be ignored in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.

Marcedes Lewis Doubtful Against Falcons
Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis (knee) is doubtful for Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons. Lewis probably had no chance of suiting up after not practicing all week, leaving Green Bay with Robert Tonyan and Jace Sternberger at the tight end position. It's a favorable matchup, so Tonyan will be a good streaming option against a struggling Falcons Defense after catching all five of his targets for 50 yards and a score last week. Tonyan is also a good pivot for those who have Julio Jones (hamstring) or Calvin Ridley (ankle, calf) rostered if they wind up being inactive on Monday night.
