Mark Ingram II Joins FOX As College Football Analyst

Free-agent running back Mark Ingram II is joining FOX Sports as a studio analyst for college football in 2023. "I'm thrilled to join FOX Sports and BIG NOON KICKOFF," Ingram said in a statement. "I can't wait to feel the energy and excitement every Saturday, alongside some of the most talented and entertaining names in our sport, at the biggest games in college football -- I'm ready for the Fall!" Ingram was Alabama's first Heisman Trophy winner and became a first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2011. The 33-year-old hasn't officially announced his retirement from the NFL, but at his age and given the state of the RB position, it's likely that the three-time Pro Bowler has played his last game. In 12 seasons, Ingram rushed for 8,111 yards and 65 TDs on 1,817 carries while adding 303 receptions for 2,125 yards and another 10 TDs through the air.

Mark Ingram II Wants To Play Another Season

Free-agent running back Mark Ingram II has run for 1,086 yards and five touchdowns on 294 carries while catching 49 passes for 280 yards and no touchdowns in 35 games in the last three seasons, but he's eager to return in 2023 for his 13th NFL season. He had a career-low 62 carries and missed the New Orleans Saints' final nine games in 2022 with a knee injury. In an appearance on ESPN's "The Paul Finebaum Show" on Monday, Ingram said he had "more juice in the tank." During his NFL career, Ingram has run for 8,111 yards and 65 touchdowns on 1,817 carries. He's caught 303 passes for 2,125 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 33-year-old veteran remains on the free-agent market, and it remains to be seen if any team will pick him up before the 2023 season.

Mark Ingram II Placed On Injured Reserve

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, officially ending his season. Ingram suffered a torn MCL in Week 13 and will now set his sights on preparing for 2023 with the Saints currently in last place in the NFC South. New Orleans claimed Eno Benjamin off of waivers on Wednesday, and he, David Johnson and Dwayne Washington could all see some opportunities behind Alvin Kamara over the next four weeks.

Mark Ingram II Likely Done For The Season

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) suffered a slight tear of his MCL in Monday night's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to sources. The injury will knock Ingram out indefinitely and will likely end his season. He will be out for four to six weeks, but he will not need surgery. With only five games left in the regular season, Ingram is most certainly done for the rest of 2022. The 32-year-old veteran actually outproduced Alvin Kamara in Week 13 with seven carries for 27 yards and a season-high five catches for 22 yards. He'll finish his 2022 campaign with 62 carries for 233 yards and a touchdown, adding 16 receptions for 68 yards in 10 games (three starts). Dwayne Washington will now become Kamara's direct backup in the Saints' backfield.

Mark Ingram II Inefficient In Loss

New Orleans Saints 32-year-old running back Mark Ingram II tallied double-digit touches in a split with running back Alvin Kamara in the 17-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ingram carried the ball seven times for 27 yards and caught all five targets for an additional 22 yards. He exited the game briefly with what could have been a re-aggravation of his MCL injury but later returned. Ingram will get extra rest heading into the bye week before two softer matchups with Atlanta and Cleveland to start the fantasy playoffs.

Jarvis Landry, Mark Ingram II Limited Thursday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry (ankle) and running back Mark Ingram II (foot) were both limited in the team's first practice of the week on Thursday. The Saints are likely just taking it easy on both veteran players early in the practice week, so barring any setbacks, they should both be active on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the last three games, Landry has eight catches for 90 yards and one touchdown. In this low-scoring Saints offense, it's really hard to recommend either Landry or Ingram as starting options for fantasy lineups. Consider Landry more of a touchdown-dependent WR5, while Ingram should be avoided as Alvin Kamara's backup. Ingram saw just four carries for 10 yards on 17 offensive snaps in his return last week.

Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram II Active Sunday

New Orleans Saints running backs Alvin Kamara (illness) and Mark Ingram II (knee) are active for Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. Both players had been listed as questionable. Kamara missed just one practice this week and was widely expected to suit up. He has played in nine games this season and ranks as the RB14 after compiling 511 rushing yards, 385 receiving yards, and three total touchdowns. Kamara falls into the low-end RB1 tier this Sunday and should see his value rise during a streak of juicy matchups from Weeks 15 to 17. Meanwhile, Ingram is back after missing three-plus games. He offers strong depth behind Kamara but is not on the fantasy radar in most leagues.

The veteran back has 196 yards on 51 attempts and a touchdown while catching 11 passes for 46 yards over eight games in 2022. Dwayne Washington will serve as Alvin Kamara's top backup on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram II (knee) did not practice on Thursday. He has now missed back-to-back practices due to an MCL sprain. The 32-year-old hasn't practiced since suffering an MCL sprain in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
