Alvin Kamara News

Alvin Kamara Was Slowed By Injuries Last Year

New Orleans Saints running backs coach Joel Thomas said that running back Alvin Kamara played through knee, ankle and back injuries in 2019. Despite missing two games and playing hurt for much of the year, Kamara had 171 carries for 797 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and five touchdowns, adding 81 receptions for 533 yards and one touchdown through the air. His six overall touchdowns were disappointing for his fantasy owners, but it makes sense why his numbers were down slightly last season. But Kamara still managed to finish as a low-end RB1, and he should bounce back, especially in the TD department, with better health behind one of the better offensive lines in football. Consider the 24-year-old (25 in July) a safe top-six fantasy running back.

Alvin Kamara Focusing On Workouts

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been working out with Dr. Sharif Tabbah of Athletix Rehab & Recovery, located in the Miami, Florida, area. The 24-year-old, who has yet to sign an extension of his rookie contract, was relegated to playing just 14 games in 2019 as a result of a leg injury, while also accumulating a career-low six total touchdowns. With the former Tennessee Volunteer seemingly 100 percent and looking for big money in 2020, he will have extra incentive to produce, potentially surpassing his production from last year.

Alvin Kamara 100 Percent Healthy

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara said his leg was 75 percent healthy last season, but that he's now back to 100 percent. Kamara was somewhat of a disappointment in 2019, and playing at less than 100 percent probably had something to do with it. He ran the ball 171 times for 797 yards and a career-low five rushing touchdowns. He only scored once through the air, too, but he's now caught exactly 81 passes in each of his three seasons in the NFL. With quarterback Drew Brees returning for one more year, Kamara could bounce back in a nice way, and his receiving chops make him a strong RB1 choice despite his underwhelming TD numbers last season.
