Alvin Kamara Inactive For Season Finale Sunday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This news does not come as much of a surprise given that Kamara had been listed as doubtful and did not practice this past week. The 29-year-old finishes the 2024 season with 950 rushing yards, 543 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns through 14 games. He was well on his way to his first-ever 1,000-yard rushing season before suffering a season-ending groin injury in Week 15. He'll come up 50 yards shy of that mark but still finishes 2024 as the overall RB8 in PPR leagues. With Kendre Miller (concussion) also sidelined, the Saints will rely on a combination of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jamaal Williams, and Jordan Mims out of the backfield in Week 18.

Alvin Kamara Doubtful To Play In Season Finale

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) is listed as doubtful to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kamara hasn't practiced or played since suffering an adductor injury in Week 15 and he's unlikely to see the field to close out the 2024 season this weekend. Head coach Darren Rizzi said Kamara will go through a workout on Saturday morning, at which point he'll likely be officially ruled out for Week 18. The lone incentive for the 29-year-old to play on Sunday is the fact that he's 50 yards from the first 1,000-yard rushing season of his NFL career. Still, it's unlikely he'll have a shot to reach that milestone. With Kendre Miller (concussion) already ruled out, it's looking like the Saints' backfield will be led by Clyde-Edwards Helaire, who made his team and season debut in Week 17.

Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller Miss Another Practice

New Orleans Saints running backs Alvin Kamara (groin) and Kendre Miller (concussion) both missed practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. Kamara suffered an adductor injury in the Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders and hasn't practiced or played since. The 29-year-old continues to say he wants to play in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that's looking more and more unlikely by the day. Miller, meanwhile, suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and is also trending toward sitting out the final game of the season. If both Kamara and Miller are ruled out for Week 18 on Friday's final injury report, look for the Saints to mostly lean on Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the backfield, with Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims serving in backup roles.

Alvin Kamara Not Practicing On Wednesday

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. The star running back has been sidelined over the past two games and could be in danger of missing the final game of the season. While he has been sidelined, Kendre Miller has taken over starting duties. However, he was also a non-participant due to a concussion on Wednesday. During the first 14 games of the season, Kamara has averaged a strong 18.9 PPR points per game. He has averaged over 100 all-purpose yards per game, tallying 16.3 attempts and seeing 6.4 targets per game. If Kamara cannot return to action Miller would likely reclaim starting duties. If Miller is also unable to play, then Jamaal Williams, Jordan Mims, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire would share the backfield against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Alvin Kamara's Week 18 Status To Be Determined By Medical Staff

New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi reiterated on Monday that running back Alvin Kamara (knee) still wants to play before the end of the 2024 regular season this Sunday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 18. While Kamara has not been ruled out for the regular-season finale, Rizzi said the final decision is up to the medical staff. The 29-year-old has missed each of the team's two last games due to an adductor injury. The fact that Kamara wants to play in one more game doesn't really change the fact that the Saints have nothing left to play for. When it comes down to it, Kamara's long-term health is much more important than getting him out there at less than 100%. Backup Kendre Miller (concussion) is also in danger of missing Week 18, so Clyde Edwards-Helaire could lead New Orleans' backfield for the second straight week.

Alvin Kamara Ruled Out For Week 17

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Kamara was unable to suit up last weekend and will attempt to turn the corner in time for their final matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the 29-year-old could not practice all week, which is not a promising sign for his status. Through 14 games this season, Kamara has averaged a strong 18.9 PPR points per game. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Kendre Miller to get the starting nod in the backfield. Last weekend, Miller tallied just 15 yards on eight carries and 16 yards on two receptions. While Jordan Mims and Jamaal Williams may have a decent role, Miller will likely log the most snaps and is a viable low-end flex option.

No Practice For Alvin Kamara Again On Thursday

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) was listed as a non-participant in practice again on Thursday. Kamara injured his adductor back in the Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders and hasn't practiced or played since. Although the 29-year-old does want to return in the final two weeks of the regular season, the Saints have no incentive to push their star RB back onto the field, so fantasy managers still battling for a trophy in 2024 shouldn't expect to have him available this Sunday in Week 17 when the team takes on the Las Vegas Raiders. Kendre Miller served as the lead back on Monday night but did very little in a loss to the Green Bay Packers in which the Saints couldn't score at all. Kamara will need to practice in some fashion on Friday to avoid being ruled out for a second straight week. We wouldn't count on it.

Alvin Kamara Still Listed As DNP With Groin Injury

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimation. The Saints didn't have an actual practice, but if they did, Kamara would have not participated. The veteran running back picked up a groin injury back in Week 15 and hasn't played since. Interim head coach Darren Rizzi recently noted that Kamara wants to play again this week and certainly doesn't want to be shut down for the rest of the regular season, but he also said that a decision hasn't been made on the 29-year-old's status going forward. Kamara had been closing in on his first 1,000-yard rushing season, posting a career-high 950 rushing yards to go along with his 543 receiving yards. He also found the end zone eight times through 14 games, using his pass-catching productivity to rank as the overall RB7 in PPR leagues. Kamara would rank as a top-12 fantasy running back if he's able to suit up against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17, but Wednesday's listing as a DNP is not a good start. If he can't play, Kendre Miller would step up as the Saints' primary running back for the second week in a row.

Alvin Kamara's Week 17 Status Will Be Determined Later This Week

According to Matthew Paras of The Times-Picayune, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) would like to return to the field this season, but his status for Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday will be determined later this week. Kamara sat out on Monday evening due to a groin injury he suffered during their Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders. Kamara was also unable to practice all week leading up to the game, which suggests his injury might be relatively serious. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his status throughout the week. Given their current place in the standings, Kamara will likely have to avoid any further setbacks to have a chance to return. While sidelined, Kendre Miller will continue to lead the backfield, with Jamaal Williams and Jordan Mims operating as change-of-pace options.

Alvin Kamara Ruled Out For Week 16

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) has been ruled out by the team for Week 16's game at Green Bay. Kamara will miss the matchup with the Packers this week and look to rebound to be available for Week 17 against Las Vegas. Kendre Miller will be the lead back for the Saints in Week 16. Kamara has 228 rushes for 950 rushing yards and six rushing TDs this season. He also has 68 catches for 543 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns this year. He has been one of the most productive fantasy running backs this season so his absence is a crushing blow for the fantasy playoffs. Miller has a decent matchup in Week 16 and looks like a must-add waiver-wire option for fantasy managers.
