Spencer Rattler Fantasy Stats

The New Orleans Saints have received trade interest in quarterback Spencer Rattler, but they expect to keep him on their 53-man roster, according to Jeremy Fowler. The former fifth-round pick will offer quality depth as the backup quarterback behind Tyler Shough. Rattler, 25, started the first eight games of the 2025 season before being benched for Shough. In those eight games, he completed 67.7% of his pass attempts for 1,586 yards, eight passing touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also tallied 167 rushing yards, 18 sacks, and two lost fumbles. Rattler's mobility gave him occasional QB2 appeal in fantasy football, but for the most part, managers wanted no part of starting him. That will remain the case if he's thrust into action due to a Shough injury in 2026.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler is reportedly putting together the best training camp of his three-year career. The former fifth-round pick has started 14 games over his first two seasons, including eight in 2025, when he completed 67.7% of his passes for 1,586 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions. Rattler was eventually replaced by Tyler Shough, who enters 2026 as New Orleans' starter. That leaves Rattler competing with Zach Wilson for the backup job, but a strong summer could help him secure the No. 2 role and rebuild some value after an uneven start to his career. He remains a deep Superflex and dynasty option rather than someone to consider in standard redraft leagues.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler is no longer in the running for the starting job in the Big Easy after being benched midway through last season in favor of rookie Tyler Shough, but the Saints made it clear in the offseason that they still like the former fifth-rounder in 2024 out of South Carolina, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell. As of right now, Terrell projects Rattler to open the 2026 campaign as the backup to Shough. However, she questions whether Zach Wilson and his three years of starting experience could be enough to push him past Rattler for backup duties once the regular season starts in early September. The Saints guaranteed Wilson $600,000, so they have something invested in him. If Rattler is looking like the QB3 at the end of camp and the preseason, the Saints could consider moving him. The 25-year-old signal-caller has completed 62.7% of his 485 pass attempts in his first two NFL seasons, throwing for 2,903 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 16 games (14 starts). Rattler is only a dynasty stash in deep two-QB formats for depth.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler started the first eight games of the 2025 season before being benched in favor of rookie Tyler Shough. Questions now exist about how the 25-year-old, who is still under contract through the 2027 season, fits into the team's future plans, but according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell, the Saints have not received any calls about his potential trade value. Rattler is now 1-13 as an NFL starter, largely assuming the role out of necessity, but it would seem that his future in the league will be that of a backup, either in New Orleans or elsewhere.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler (right finger) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing all three practices this past week. The 25-year-old has been operating as the backup quarterback behind Tyler Shough ever since Week 9. As a result, Shough remains the starter for Sunday's regular-season finale while Jake Haener steps into the backup role. Haener hasn't played an offensive snap this year, but he did complete 18 of 39 pass attempts for 226 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in 2024. Haener and Taysom Hill would be candidates to earn quarterback snaps if Shough leaves the game for any reason.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler has been benched during Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rattler threw three interceptions last week and wasn't having much more success this weekend. He completed 15-of-21 passing attempts for 136 yards with an interception before being pulled in the second half of this game. Tyler Shough has taken over under center for at least the rest of this game. Given the Saints' record, it wouldn't be shocking if Shough got a chance at the starting gig in the second half of the season.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 20-of-32 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 7 loss to the Bears. After turning the ball over just once through his first six games, Rattler unraveled in this one, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble. Head coach Kellen Moore said Rattler will remain the starter, though it will be a "week-to-week thing," which adds a layer of risk to his outlook. The second-year quarterback draws a decent bounce-back spot in Week 8 against a Buccaneers defense allowing 229.0 passing yards and 25.0 points per game. Rattler should remain on the QB2/Superflex radar, but turnovers could start to become a concern if the trend continues.

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that quarterback Spencer Rattler will keep starting for the team, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Rattler had a rough game in the Week 7 loss on the road to the Chicago Bears, turning the ball over four times. Moore noted that the Bears have been forcing turnovers all year, so he's not too worried, and that the 25-year-old signal-caller needs to learn from it and move on. Rattler will head into Week 8 as the starter, but he's going to need to play better to hold off rookie Tyler Shough before the end of the season. He'll get a little bit of leash despite throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble, mainly because he had just one pick and no fumbles before the Week 7 loss to Chicago. From a fantasy perspective, managers should keep ignoring New Orleans' quarterback situation.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 20-of-26 passes for 227 scoreless yards and added four rushes for 20 yards in Week 6's loss to the Patriots. He attempted a season-low 26 passes but committed zero turnovers for the fifth time in six games, and his 6:1 touchdown-to-interception ratio ranks seventh in the league. Rattler has been efficient, completing 68.5% of his passes, though he's averaging just six yards per attempt, 28th in the league. He looks to maintain that efficiency and find the end zone against the Bears in Week 7, who have allowed a league-worst 2.6 passing touchdowns per game. Rattler profiles as a high-upside QB2 or Superflex option in the matchup.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 20-of-26 passes for 227 yards with no touchdowns and added four rushes for 20 yards in Week 6's loss to the Patriots. He now ranks eighth in pass attempts, 13th in completion percentage, and 16th in passing yards on the season. This game also marks his fifth straight with a completion rate over 67% and his first since Week 1 without a passing score. The efficiency is clear, but the lack of touchdown production continues to limit his ceiling. Despite steady play, he's finished inside the top 20 quarterbacks just once this year. However, a favorable Week 7 matchup against a Bears defense that's surrendered 14 total touchdowns to quarterbacks through five games, could give him a chance to turn volume and accuracy into real production.
