Saints to Discuss Extension for Chris Olave This Offseason

New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said the team will discuss a contract extension for wide receiver Chris Olave this offseason, according to Erin Summers of NFL Network. "Chris is obviously an important player to us and had a really good season... had a couple of conversations with his agent, that will be part of this offseason," Loomis said. Olave didn't play in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons due to a blood clot in his lung, but the 25-year-old former first-rounder should be ready to roll for the start of next season as the Saints' clear WR1. Despite missing the last game of the year, Olave was money for fantasy managers in 2025, finishing as the WR6 in half-PPR scoring with 100 catches (156 targets) for 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns in 16 games. It was a career year for Olave, and he'll be an early-round WR1 target in 2026 fantasy drafts, especially with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough showing plenty of promise in his first season.

Chris Olave Ruled Out for Week 18

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (illness) has been ruled out for Week 18's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. According to Saints reporter Nick Underhill, Olave had a blood clot detected in his lung and is currently at the hospital, where he is doing well. Olave's career season ends with 100 receptions on 156 targets for 1163 yards and nine touchdowns, ranking him WR6 in PPR formats. With Olave out, look for Kevin Austin and Mason Tipton to step up, while tight ends Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill will have big roles as well. While the Saints eye their fifth straight win against the Falcons in Week 18, they'll have to do it without their best offensive weapon.

Chris Olave Out Sick on Wednesday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (illness) was sick on Wednesday and missed practice, according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN. Olave isn't feeling well this week, but he should be fine and ready to go by Sunday's Week 18 regular-season finale against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. Even with a less-than-ideal situation at quarterback in New Orleans this year, Olave has been a must-start WR1 in fantasy football on a weekly basis. The 25-year-old pass-catcher is currently the WR6 in half-PPR scoring with 100 receptions on 156 targets for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games in 2025. He's on an impressive run of late, too, catching 24 of his 36 targets from rookie QB Tyler Shough for 352 yards and four touchdowns in the last three games. As long as Olave is active this weekend, he should be in all starting fantasy lineups against Atlanta in Week 18.

Chris Olave Extends Touchdown Streak in Win Over Titans

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave caught eight of his 11 targets for 119 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans. Olave has been the highest-scoring fantasy receiver over the last three weeks, and he ranks as the overall WR6 in full-PPR leagues this season. Through 16 games, he now has 100 catches, 1,163 yards, and nine touchdowns, all of which are career-highs. He has enjoyed a career resurgence in an upward-trending Saints offense led by rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. Olave will rank as a mid-to-high WR1 in the Saints' regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons next week, and he should maintain his status as a top-10 receiver heading into 2026 fantasy drafts.

Chris Olave Active for Week 17 Against Titans

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (back) is officially active for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the Tennessee Titans. He had been listed as questionable after being downgraded to a limited participant in practice on Friday. In the end, though, the talented wide receiver will suit up for this weekend's contest between two eliminated teams. Olave is coming off one of the best games of his young career, catching 10 passes for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns last Sunday against the New York Jets. He is the overall WR6 in PPR leagues this season and should remain a strong fantasy option against the Titans, who have surrendered the eighth-most receiving yards and seventh-most fantasy points to wide receivers in 2025. He ranks as a mid-range WR1 once again.

Chris Olave is Expected to Play in Week 17

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (back) is expected to be a full-go for Sunday's Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Olave has been limited in practice all week due to a lingering back issue. He traveled to Tennessee on Saturday and should be out there, barring any setbacks. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect the back issue to impact Olave's performance on the field. Last week, Olave hauled in 10 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns during the win over the New York Jets. He has become a favorite target for rookie quarterback Tyler Shough. Fantasy managers should get Olave in their lineups as a WR1.

Chris Olave Expected to Be Full-Go Against Titans

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave hauled in 10 receptions on 16 targets for 148 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 16 victory over the Jets. The season-best outing pushed the fourth-year wideout past 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his career. With Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) and Devin Neal (hamstring) sidelined, Olave saw a large workload as the Saints leaned heavily on the passing game, throwing 50 times against New York. He enters Week 17 listed as questionable with a lingering back issue that has kept him on the report since Week 13, though he is expected to be a "full-go" against the Titans. Assuming he is ready to go, Olave remains a clear WR1 against a Tennessee defense allowing the 11th-most PPR points to receivers this season.

Chris Olave Continues to Showcase Rapport with Rookie Quarterback

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has formed a terrific rapport with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, and it has vaulted him into the WR1 tier near the end of the 2025 fantasy football season. Olave is coming off one of the best games of his career, catching 10 of 16 targets for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns last weekend. The 25-year-old currently ranks as the overall WR6 in full-PPR leagues. He has already set career-highs in targets, catches, and touchdowns, and the season isn't even over. He's also on pace to set a new career-high in yards by the end of the year. Olave is due for another big game as he takes on the Tennessee Titans in Week 17. Tennessee has surrendered the eighth-most receiving yards and seventh-most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. He'll rank as a mid-range WR1 for the rest of the season.

Chris Olave Expected to Be Ready for Sunday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (back) was not spotted during the open portion of Friday's practice, but according to Saints beat reporter Nick Underhill, his absence was merely precautionary, and he is expected to be a full go for Week 17. Olave has been the fantasy WR6 on the season, with his best and most consistent performances coming since rookie Tyler Shough took over as New Orleans' starting quarterback in Week 9. The Saints face a vulnerable Titans defense in Week 17, and with 35-year-old jack-of-all trades Taysom Hill likely in line to lead the team's rushing attack, Shough, Olave, and the passing offense could see another big day. In a Week 16 win over the Jets, Shough set career highs in dropbacks, pass attempts, completions, and yards, leading to a season-best WR2 fantasy finish for Olave, who is RotoBaller's WR6 for championship weekend.

Chris Olave Dominates in Saints' Big Win Over Jets

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave caught 10 of his 16 targets for 148 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 16 win over the New York Jets. Olave is having quite the redemption campaign in New Orleans this season, as he now has over 1,000 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns. He ranks among the top eight fantasy receivers in scoring (full-PPR) this season, which is also the highest mark of his career. One of the biggest factors toward Olave's success has been his health. Knock on wood, the 25-year-old has not yet missed a game this season. He missed three games over his first two pro seasons, and he was sidelined for a whopping nine contests last year. As long as Olave stays healthy for the final two weeks of the year, he'll continue to be a strong WR1 option rest-of-season. That includes Week 17, when the Saints face off against the Titans and could deliver another double-digit margin of victory.
