Foster Moreau To Have Surgery On His Knee

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (knee) underwent further testing on his injured knee and will undergo offseason surgery, according to a source. Before getting hurt in the loss to the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday, Moreau caught all four of his targets for 31 yards and finished his second year in New Orleans with 32 catches on 43 targets for 413 yards and a career-high-tying five touchdowns in 17 starts. Depending on the severity of his knee injury, the 27-year-old could be in danger of missing the start of the 2025 season this fall. Moreau wrapped up his two-year, $12 million deal in 2024 and will be an unrestricted free agent in March. With a knee injury now clouding his future and a new coaching regime coming in, there's a good chance Moreau will have to latch on with another team.

Foster Moreau A Dart Throw In Week 18

In a season where injuries have decimated the New Orleans Saints offense, tight end Foster Moreau finds himself as the team's unlikely leader in receiving touchdowns with five. Moreau has found the end zone twice in the last three weeks, most recently in Week 17 on an impressive 30-yard heave from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler. Rattler will be under center again on Sunday and could lean on Moreau again to pick up the slack left by a depleted offense. Chris Olave (concussion) practiced in full all week but is listed as questionable for the season finale against Tampa Bay, as is fellow tight end Juwan Johnson (knee). Moreau had two catches for 54 yards when the Saints last faced the Buccaneers back in Week 6. Moreau should be good for a chunk gain or two against a Tampa defense that has allowed the fourth-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends this season and could push his way into the TE2 conversation with another touchdown.

Foster Moreau Catches TD In Loss

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau caught three of his five targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler hit Moreau in the end zone from 30 yards out to cap off a trick play that involved running back Kendre Miller at the start of the second quarter. Moreau finished with the second-most targets on the team behind fellow tight end Juwan Johnson's 10. Perhaps the most surprising thing about the surge in volume is that it hadn't been tried before given the fact that New Orleans has been missing multiple playmakers due to injury for most of the season. Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) was the latest wide receiver to suffer an injury, leaving in the fourth quarter after getting drilled while attempting a catch over the middle. It is too soon to tell his status for Week 18, but if he does miss the season finale, then Moreau might see more attention once again.

Foster Moreau Not Startable In Week 17

New Orleans Saints tight end tied for the team lead in receptions in Week 16. That he did so with all of two catches should say something about how the offense fared last week. Moreau also led the team outright in receiving yards with 33, giving him roughly one-third of quarterback Spencer Rattler's 153 passing yards in the 34-0 loss at the hands of the Green Bay Packers. With Derek Carr (hand) out for another week, Rattler will draw another start on Sunday against Moreau's former team, the Las Vegas Raiders. In Rattler's five starts this season, Moreau has averaged two catches for 32.8 yards on 2.4 targets per game, leaving little hope that the rookie will look to his tight end for anything more than an occasional chunk gain. While this may be a "revenge game" for Moreau, he is unlikely to make an impact in fantasy. Managers vying for a championship this weekend would be wise to look elsewhere if they are in need of a tight end.

Foster Moreau Leads Saints In Receiving Yards

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau was the team's unlikely leader in receiving yards in their game against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. If that isn't a strong enough indicator of how the Saints' offense fared, the fact that he needed just 33 yards to lead the team should make it a little more clear. Moreau caught two of his three passes for those 33 yards in a 35-0 loss in which New Orleans was held to less than 200 yards on offense. He also logged the Saints' longest play from scrimmage in the game when he caught a 21-yard pass from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler in the second quarter. Primarily used as a blocker, Moreau now has a line of 25-335-4 for the season. In Week 17, Moreau can be ignored for fantasy purposes, even in a supposed "revenge game" against his former team, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Foster Moreau Catches Last Second TD In Loss

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau caught a one-yard touchdown pass as the game clock expired in Sunday's loss to the Commanders. The Saints could not convert the ensuing two-point attempt and lost 20-19. Moreau saw four targets, all in the fourth quarter, and caught all of them for 39 receiving yards and the score. His four receptions matched his season high, set back in Week 1 against the Panthers and Sunday's work marked the third time in four games that Moreau saw four targets. The 27-year-old vet has been good for the occasional chunk play this season but does not see enough action in the passing game to be a reliable fantasy asset. His 4-46-1 line from Week 15 gave him his first double-digit PPR score since Week 1. On the season, Moreau has 23 catches for 302 yards and four touchdowns on 31 targets.

Foster Moreau Not A Fantasy Asset In Week 15

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau has not been a fantasy asset so far this season and that trend will continue into Week 15. Moreau's receiving production is so light that he has hit double-digit PPR points in just one game this season despite scoring a touchdown in three separate games. The fact that New Orleans' wide receivers have been banged up for most of the season and Taysom Hill (knee) suffered a season-ending injury in Week 13 has little bearing on Moreau's utility in fantasy. Moreau is primarily used as a blocker and he has not seen more than four targets in a game this season or a red zone target since Week 10. Furthermore, quarterback Derek Carr (concussion, hand) is listed as doubtful, giving Jake Haener the chance to make his first NFL start. Moreau has flashed his hands on chunk plays here and there in 2024 but is not consistent enough to plug into lineups with confidence. He is an easy fade as the fantasy playoffs begin.

Foster Moreau Catches Big Pass Sunday Afternoon

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau caught each of his two targets for a total of 40 yards during Sunday's Week 14 win over the New York Giants. His highlight of the day was a 32-yard reception over the middle of the field. The 27-year-old now has multiple catches in each of his last three games, but he still ranks as the overall TE41 in fantasy football during that span. As long as fellow tight end Juwan Johnson remains healthy, Moreau can be left buried on waivers, especially now that quarterback Jake Haener might be in line to start a couple of games for New Orleans.

Foster Moreau Good To Go For Week 14

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (shoulder) practiced in full on Friday after logging limited sessions on the two preceding days. He will not carry a designation going into Sunday's game against the New York Giants. In Week 13, fellow tight end Taysom Hill (knee) tore his ACL, ending his season and thus bumping Moreau up in the pecking order on offense. It should be noted that during Hill's previous multi-week absence earlier this season, Moreau had minimal involvement as a pass-catcher. To date, he has 17 catches for 223 yards and three touchdowns on 25 targets. Fantasy managers in a bind at tight end thanks to this week's bye-pocalypse should look elsewhere for help. The Giants allow the second-fewest fantasy points per game to the position and Moreau is used as an extra blocker more than twice as often as he runs a route. If desperation drives investment in the Saints for roster help, look to Juwan Johnson rather than Moreau for a streaming tight end.

Foster Moreau Cleared For Week 13

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau was limited in practice this week as the team prepared for their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams. Moreau was hampered by a shoulder injury that occurred in Week 12 as he fell hard to the ground while catching a ball in that game against the Browns. The injury took him out of the game briefly, but he returned to finish out the contest. Moreau leads the Saints' tight ends in snap share but is used primarily as an extra blocker. While he does have three touchdowns this season, his use as a pass-catcher is too inconsistent to be viable for fantasy football. Moreau can easily be left on the waiver wire.
