Foster Moreau Officially Active in Week 5

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (knee) is officially active on Sunday and will make his 2025 season debut in Week 5 against the visiting New York Giants, according to Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Both Moreau and quarterback/tight end Taysom Hill (knee) are making their season debuts this weekend after they suffered torn ACLs last year. Juwan Johnson has been heavily involved through the first four weeks with Hill and Moreau sidelined, and he should continue to be a big part of their passing attack. The 28-year-old Moreau tore his ACL in Week 18 last year. He should be the TE3 in New Orleans now that he's healthy, which makes him one to avoid in all leagues. Last year, Moreau caught 32 passes for 413 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games.

Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau Activated to Play in Week 5

New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) have been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of Sunday's Week 5 contest against the New York Giants. Hill and Moreau are listed as questionable after logging limited practices, but they're both on track to play this weekend. Their activations could be coming at the perfect time, as New Orleans tight end Juwan Johnson (ankle) is dealing with an injury of his own and is questionable to play against the Giants. Hill offers more of a gadget threat on the ground, while Moreau is a blocker and a capable receiver. Managers shouldn't rush to add either player, but Hill is worth monitoring in case he carves out a significant rushing role alongside Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller.

Foster Moreau Questionable to Play in Week 5

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (knee) is questionable to play in Week 5 against the New York Giants, per the team's beat reporter Erin Summers. Moreau began the year on the physically unable to perform list due to a knee injury, but he returned to practice this week and should be close to making his return. Moreau recorded 32 catches for 413 yards and five touchdowns across 17 games in 2024. The 28-year-old is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant himself, but he could steal playing time away from Saints tight end Juwan Johnson, who has been a highly productive fantasy tight end so far this season. The Saints should also be getting back Taysom Hill (knee) from a knee injury in the coming weeks, which will only further muddle the playing time picture at the position.

Foster Moreau Returning to Practice This Week

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that tight end Foster Moreau (knee) will return to practice this week in his first week back eligible from the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.football. Fellow tight end Taysom Hill (knee) is also returning to practice as they both look to return this year from torn ACLs. The Saints are opening their practice windows, which means they'll now have 21 days to officially activate them from the PUP or else lose them for the rest of the year. So while Moreau and Hill will practice this week, it doesn't mean they are on the verge of making their 2025 debuts in Week 5 against the New York Giants. It's unclear how Moreau will be used in Moore's offense when he returns, but he's expected to be behind both Hill and Juwan Johnson on the TE depth chart. Moreau caught 53 of 68 targets for 606 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Saints in 2023 and 2024.

Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau Starting on the PUP List

New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) are both recovering from torn ACLs suffered last season and are starting on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, according to Ross Jackson of Locked On Saints. Both Hill and Moreau will be required to at least miss the first four games of the 2025 season, and based on a recent report from the team, they both might not be ready to make their season debuts when Week 5 rolls around on Oct. 5 against the New York Giants. The 35-year-old Hill can do it all for the Saints offense, but it's unclear exactly how he'll be used when he finally returns under new head coach Kellen Moore. Hill suffered his torn ACL in Week 13 of last year and can be ignored in fantasy drafts in 12-team leagues. Juwan Johnson will be the team's top pass-catching TE to open the year, but he won't draw much fantasy attention given the team's weak QB situation.

Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau Not Close to a Return

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) are not close to a return to the field. Until one or both of Hill and Moreau are able to return, the Saints will be very thin at the tight end position. Juwan Johnson is the clear starter at the position, and Jack Stoll is "set for a legitimiate offensive impact as of now." Stoll can be avoided in fantasy, though, as he's more of a blocking threat than a receiver. Behind Stoll, it's a complete unknown for the Saints. Moliki Matavao, Treyton Welch and Michael Jacobson will be fighting for the TE3 role. It sounds as though both Hill and Moreau are in line to open the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which means they will have to miss at least the first four weeks of the season. Hill is the more attractive fantasy stash in deeper leagues.

Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau Starting Training Camp on PUP List

New Orleans Saints tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) will start training camp on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. Hill is still recovering after tearing the ACL in his left knee in Week 13 last year. There are a lot of question marks around the 34-year-old do-it-all offensive piece entering the 2025 campaign, the biggest of which is whether he'll actually be ready for Week 1 in early September. Moreau injured his knee in the Week 18 regular-season finale and required offseason surgery, so he, too, is up in the air for Week 1 this fall. It all adds up to more opportunities for veteran Juwan Johnson in training camp and the preseason. Hill has been a frustrating fantasy play, even with added TE eligibility, and that will probably be even more of the case given his injury concerns and new coaching staff in New Orleans.

Taysom Hill, Foster Moreau Skipping Offseason Program With Knee Injuries

New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said that both tight ends Taysom Hill (knee) and Foster Moreau (knee) will not take part in the team's offseason program due to knee injuries. Both players will miss OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Hill tore his left ACL in December of last year and probably won't be ready for training camp in late July, either. If the 34-year-old Swiss Army Knife looking unlikely to miss the start of the regular season, too, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that he'll be a salary cap casualty with a cap hit of almost $18 million in 2025. Moreau suffered a knee injury in early January and is still rehabbing. When healthy, the 28-year-old should compete with Juwan Johnson for the top pass-catching role at tight end in 2025. Hill is the most fantasy friendly TE in New Orleans if he stays, but he could be even more boom-or-bust if he stays in the Big Easy coming off his serious knee injury.

Foster Moreau To Have Surgery On His Knee

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau (knee) underwent further testing on his injured knee and will undergo offseason surgery, according to a source. Before getting hurt in the loss to the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday, Moreau caught all four of his targets for 31 yards and finished his second year in New Orleans with 32 catches on 43 targets for 413 yards and a career-high-tying five touchdowns in 17 starts. Depending on the severity of his knee injury, the 27-year-old could be in danger of missing the start of the 2025 season this fall. Moreau wrapped up his two-year, $12 million deal in 2024 and will be an unrestricted free agent in March. With a knee injury now clouding his future and a new coaching regime coming in, there's a good chance Moreau will have to latch on with another team.

Foster Moreau A Dart Throw In Week 18

In a season where injuries have decimated the New Orleans Saints offense, tight end Foster Moreau finds himself as the team's unlikely leader in receiving touchdowns with five. Moreau has found the end zone twice in the last three weeks, most recently in Week 17 on an impressive 30-yard heave from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler. Rattler will be under center again on Sunday and could lean on Moreau again to pick up the slack left by a depleted offense. Chris Olave (concussion) practiced in full all week but is listed as questionable for the season finale against Tampa Bay, as is fellow tight end Juwan Johnson (knee). Moreau had two catches for 54 yards when the Saints last faced the Buccaneers back in Week 6. Moreau should be good for a chunk gain or two against a Tampa defense that has allowed the fourth-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends this season and could push his way into the TE2 conversation with another touchdown.
