Jawhar Jordan a Healthy Scratch in Divisional Round

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan is a healthy inactive for the Divisional Round contest on Sunday against the New England Patriots, according to the team's official website. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts and didn't play in the Wild-Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. The 26-year-old returned to practice this week, though, and was eventually removed from Friday's final injury report. Jordan took over RB2 duties from veteran Nick Chubb late in the year, but Chubb will handle backup duties behind rookie Woody Marks in New England on Sunday. Chubb had double-digit carries (10) against the Steelers for the first time since Nov. 2, but a lot of his work came in garbage time in the second half in the 30-6 blowout win. Fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting Chubb to handle much volume against the Pats.

Jawhar Jordan Cleared to Play in Divisional Round

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) was upgraded to a full practice on Friday and will be active for the Divisional Round this Sunday against the hosting New England Patriots, according to the team. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts, didn't practice at all the following week, and was inactive for Monday night's Wild-Card victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. With the 26-year-old second-year back unavailable, veteran Nick Chubb saw double-digit carries in the blowout win as rookie Woody Marks' backup. Most of Chubb's action came in garbage time in the second half. Jordan surpassed Chubb as the RB2 in Houston late in the year and will likely be the team's RB2 this weekend in a bad matchup. The Pats allowed the fourth-fewest half-PPR points per game to RBs during the regular season.

Jawhar Jordan Limited Again on Thursday

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) was limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday, according to the team. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts and did not suit up for Monday night's Wild-Card blowout win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although Jordan has returned to practice this week, he's still very much up in the air to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots in an AFC Divisional Round game. Even if Jordan is active, he'll merely be the RB2 behind rookie starter Woody Marks. With Jordan out on Monday night, veteran Nick Chubb played 29% of the offensive snaps and carried the ball 10 times for 48 yards. Most of Chubb's work came late in the contest in garbage time. Neither Chubb nor Jordan is recommended fantasy plays behind Marks against New England.

Jawhar Jordan Returns to Practice

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday and was listed as a limited participant, according to the team. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts and didn't play in Monday night's Wild-Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 26-year-old second-year back being back at practice this week is good news, but it doesn't guarantee that he'll be active as backfield depth for the Divisional Round on Sunday in New England against the Patriots. Even if Jordan were to continue progressing and play this weekend, he wouldn't be a suggested fantasy football lineup option in the RB2 role behind rookie Woody Marks for the Texans. Jordan had only 43 carries during the regular season for 193 yards and no touchdowns on the ground. He added 34 receiving yards.

Jawhar Jordan Won't Play in Wild-Card Game on Monday

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's Wild-Card contest against the hosting Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Adam Caplan of Sirius XM NFL Radio. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday and was unable to practice all week. If the Texans advance past the Steelers and to the Divisional Round next weekend, the 26-year-old Jordan still might not be ready to go. With Jordan sidelined against the Steelers, veteran Nick Chubb should be active to help give the Texans some backfield depth behind rookie Woody Marks. Before Jordan's injury in the season finale, he had taken over RB2 duties from Chubb, with Chubb being a healthy scratch last Sunday. Chubb shouldn't be in any starting fantasy lineups on Wild-Card weekend.

Jawhar Jordan Remains Sidelined at Friday's Practice

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) remained sidelined at practice on Friday due to a high-ankle sprain that he suffered on an illegal hip-drop tackle in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Indianapolis Colts, league sources told Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. High-ankle sprains often sideline players for multiple weeks, so the 26-year-old Jordan is looking like a long shot to be able to play on Wild-Card weekend on Monday night against the hosting Pittsburgh Steelers. Jordan had taken over RB2 duties in the final few weeks of the regular season from veteran Nick Chubb before his injury. With Jordan now looking unlikely to play on Monday, expect Chubb to be active against the Steelers and serve as the backup to rookie RB Woody Marks. Jordan had only 43 rushing attempts for 193 yards and no touchdowns in four games for Houston during the regular season.

Jawhar Jordan Misses Practice With High-Ankle Sprain

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) did not practice due to a high-ankle sprain on Thursday, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Jordan suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the Houston Texans and will be a serious question mark to be ready to play by Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Wild-Card playoff matchup. Before the 26-year-old got hurt in Week 18, he had taken over the RB2 role in Houston over veteran Nick Chubb. Chubb was a healthy scratch for the regular-season finale. If Jordan cannot play this week, Chubb will almost certainly dress on Monday to provide backfield depth behind rookie Woody Marks. Jordan only appeared in four games during the regular season in his second year in the NFL, carrying the ball 43 times for 193 yards and no touchdowns.

Jawhar Jordan Won't Return in Week 18

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 18 contest against the Indianapolis Colts. He exited in the second quarter and was initially listed as questionable before being downgraded to out. He finishes the game with just three rushing yards on five carries. Jordan made a name for himself in the month of December with 38 carries, 190 rushing yards, seven catches, and 34 receiving yards in three games leading up to Week 18. Nick Chubb (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch this week, so Jordan's departure should create more opportunities for Dare Ogunbowale and British Brooks behind Woody Marks.

Jawhar Jordan Questionable to Return in Week 18 with Ankle Injury

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan (ankle) is questionable to return to his team's Week 18 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts after suffering an ankle injury. Jordan recorded five carries for three yards before exiting the game. The 26-year-old did not record his first NFL carry until Week 15 of the 2025 season, but he's emerged as a more consistent contributor with 190 rushing yards over his last three games entering Week 18. If he's unable to return, Texans back Woody Marks would likely dominate rushing work for the remainder of Week 18, with Dare Ogunbowale mixing in on passing downs. Houston does not have veteran back Nick Chubb available, as he was a healthy scratch for Week 18.

Jawhar Jordan Is a High-Risk Flex Play

Houston Texans running back Jawhar Jordan has impressed the last two weeks, but he's high-risk this week since his role is uncertain as his team visits the Chargers on Saturday afternoon. The 26-year-old broke out in his NFL debut in Week 15, taking 15 carries for 101 yards against the Cardinals. He followed that up last week with 15 more carries but only for 53 yards, but he saved his fantasy day with five catches for 17 more yards. Both of those big games came after Woody Marks (ankle) left with an injury, but Marks is ready to return this week. Jordan and Nick Chubb will likely continue to mix in for the Texans, but Marks was the primary running back before his injury and will likely resume that role moving forward. The Chargers have been good against the run this season, and Jordan is only the No. 52 RB in RotoBaller's Week 17 rankings. He's a desperation play who should still be involved, but he's best left on your bench this week if possible.
