Jadeveon Clowney News

Mike Vrabel Hasn't Talked With Jadeveon Clowney

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said that he has not talked to defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who remains the best available pass-rusher on the open market. The coronavirus pandemic hasn't helped the injury-prone Clowney's cause this offseason, and he's forced to lower his contract demands. With only the Titans and Seahawks making offers to the 27-year-old, it's looking more likely that Clowney will sign a one-year, prove-it deal closer to training camp. The three-time Pro Bowler has played in a full season just once in his six seasons and has never had double-digit sacks, which has led to his cold market. If healthy, however, he can be one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL.

Raiders Not Interested In Jadeveon Clowney

The Las Vegas Raiders are not interested in signing free-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, according to sources. Clowney doesn't have many options at this point and has had to drop his asking price of around $21 million per season on the open market. COVID-19 restrictions have hurt Clowney, as teams haven't been able to take a look at the injury-prone pass-rusher with their own doctors. While Clowney has never had double-digit sacks in his career, he remains a disruptive force in opponent's backfields when he's healthy and on the field. This could drag out into the summer with Clowney ultimately likely to wind up taking a short-term deal for far less than what he was originally seeking.

Jadeveon Clowney Unlikely To Re-Sign With Seattle

Free-agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is open to re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks, but he'd have to take significantly less money than what the team previously offered him, according to a league source. Seattle also hasn't closed the door on Clowney, but it's not likely in part because of their financial situation and the amount of money he's asking for. Clowney was looking for a deal averaging $21 million per year at the start of free agency, but he has dropped his asking price to around $17-18 million per year. The Seahawks don't have an offer on the table currently after he rejected their last one. The team signed Benson Mayowa and Bruce Irvin this spring and also addressed the position in the draft, so it's looking more likely that Clowney will wait and sign a one-year deal elsewhere.
