The 2014 No. 1 overall pick spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens, and it was one of the best campaigns of his career. He tied a career-high with 9.5 sacks and did not miss a game for the first time since 2017. The 31-year-old still has plenty of ability, but his surroundings in Carolina won't be as strong as they were with the Ravens. The South Carolina native is now closer to home, and he'll look to help the struggling franchise accelerate its rebuild in 2024.

The guys I work out with can help me take care of my body a lot better being right up under them. I'll show you [I can still produce]," he said in an interview with Fox 26 Houston. Clowney had 24.5 sacks from 2016 to 2018 and made three straight Pro Bowls before signing with the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. His production with Seattle and one injury-limited season in Tennessee was not on par with his past success, but he had one good season with the Cleveland Browns. In 2021, Clowney had 9.0 sacks, 19 QB hits, and a total of 37 combined tackles. But in 2022, Clowney only had 2.0 sacks and complained publicly about being underutilized.
