Saints Feel Great About Tyler Shough Going Forward

When asked if Tyler Shough is the team's starting quarterback going forward in 2026, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said, "Yeah, we feel great about Tyler." Shough continued to get better in his first NFL season and went 23-for-35 passing for 259 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons, adding 34 rushing yards and another score on the ground. The 26-year-old second-rounder out of Louisville completed 67.6% of his 327 pass attempts in 11 games played (nine starts) for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Shough added 45 carries for another 186 rushing yards and three touchdowns. At the very least, Shough cemented himself as New Orleans' starting QB going into the 2026 season, and he should profile as a solid QB2 in superflex leagues and a nice backup with upside in single-QB formats.

Tyler Shough Finishes Rookie Campaign on Strong Note

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough finished off his rookie season with another solid performance during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Shough completed 23 of 35 passing attempts for 259 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the loss. He also added 34 additional yards on three rushing attempts with another score on the ground. Shough was able to throw a 16-yard touchdown to Ronnie Bell late in the fourth quarter, but the Saints weren't able to complete the comeback. He'll finish his rookie season with 2,384 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions through 10 games. He ran 45 times for 186 rushing yards with three scores on the ground. The second-round pick has played well enough to earn himself the starting gig heading into the 2026 season.

Tyler Shough Looks to Finish the Season Strong Against Falcons

New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has been one of the more pleasant surprises of the season, as he has firmly placed himself in the thick of the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation. During the Saints' four-game win streak, the 26-year-old rookie has completed 71.1% of his passes for 1,057 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception with a 102.9 passer rating while adding 21 carries for 101 yards and two more scores on the ground. Shough will be without his top target in Chris Olave (illness) for the season finale against the Atlanta Falcons, which could limit his fantasy appeal, considering Shough struggled against Atlanta in their first meeting back in Week 12. It was the only start of his career in which he didn't record a touchdown, and also marked his lowest yards per attempt at 5.7. Shough is RotoBaller's QB16 for the week.

Tyler Shough Chasing Rookie of the Year Honors

New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has proven he is the quarterback of the future during their four-game win streak. During the streak, Shough has completed 91 of 128 passes (72%) for 1,057 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception. He has also added 70 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, making him a dual threat as well. While most didn't expect Shough to be a key piece for fantasy managers in his rookie season, he has delivered, averaging 17.0 fantasy points per game since becoming the starter, which places him as QB11 during that span. In Week 18, Shough faces the Atlanta Falcons, who rank 15th against quarterbacks this season and have caused the sixth-most interceptions as well. While the matchup is relatively difficult, Shough will hope to lead the Saints to their fifth straight win and potentially take control of the offensive rookie of the year race.

Tyler Shough Peaking at the End of his Rookie Season

New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough continues to get better with more playing time. For the second straight week, the 26-year-old threw for over 300 yards in the Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans. Shough went 22-for-27 passing on Sunday for a season-high 333 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in the 34-26 win. He added six rushing yards on four attempts. The second-rounder out of Louisville has latched on to star receiver Chris Olave, but beyond him, he doesn't have a lot of experienced options, which makes his rise in the second half of the 2025 season that much more impressive. In 10 games (eight starts), Shough has completed 67.8% of his pass attempts for 2,125 yards, nine TDs, and five interceptions, adding 152 rushing yards and two more touchdowns. In the season finale this weekend against Atlanta, Shough will be a popular streaming option in fantasy as he looks to close out his rookie campaign on a high note.

Tyler Shough Looks Excellent in Win Over Titans

New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough threw for 308 yards last week and was able to top that on Sunday. The rookie quarterback continues to look better each week. On Sunday, Shough completed 22 of 27 passing attempts for 333 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions in the win over the Tennessee Titans. The 26-year-old was down 13-0 early in this game, but he was able to settle in and help his team get the comeback victory. Shough is working with mostly a skeleton crew on offense, but luckily, he still has his favorite target in receiver Chris Olave. The two of them connected on a 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Shough will look to surpass his new career-high in passing yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18. Shough has made a realistic case to win Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2025.

Tyler Shough Looking to Extend Win Streak Against Titans

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough completed 32 of 49 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown in Week 16's victory over the Jets. The performance marked career highs in both pass attempts and passing yards, while extending New Orleans' winning streak to three games. With a depleted backfield, the Saints leaned heavily on the passing game, throwing the ball at a 2:1 rate compared to rushing attempts (50 passes to 25 rushes). With no positive developments in the running back room ahead of a Week 17 matchup against the Titans, New Orleans could once again funnel the offense through the air. Shough shapes up as a strong streaming option against a Tennessee defense that allows the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

Tyler Shough Playing at a High Level, Great Option in Superflex Leagues

New Orleans Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough has been playing really well of late, scoring 17 or more fantasy points in five of his last six starts. What is providing him a safe floor during this stretch is that he is averaging five rush attempts per contest and has built an excellent rapport with wide receiver Chris Olave and tight end Juwan Johnson. For the season (nine games), Shough has thrown for 1,792 yards, completing 66 percent of his passes, thrown for seven touchdowns and five interceptions, and has rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Depending on his matchup for the week, he is borderlining the QB1 ranks, but given his limited experience and upside, he usually finds himself in the QB2 ranks. Shough is a solid Superflex (two-quarterback play) and should be viewed as a higher-end QB2 in Week 17 against the Tennessee Titans, who are vulnerable against the passing game.

Tyler Shough Posts First Career 300-Yard Passing Game

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough hit a milestone during Sunday's Week 16 matchup with the New York Jets. The second-round rookie has been impressive since taking over under center, and his success continued on Sunday. Shough completed 32-of-49 passing attempts for a career-high 308 yards and a touchdown in the win. He added eight rushing yards on two attempts. The Saints have a banged-up offense right now, but that hasn't stopped Shough from making plays. The rookie quarterback will take a three-game winning streak into a favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 17.

Tyler Shough Looks to Build on Two-Game Win Streak Against Jets

New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough completed 24 of 32 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown in the Week 15 victory against the Panthers. He was also a threat on the ground, rushing eight times for 32 yards, though he drew multiple unnecessary roughness penalties, including one with 12 seconds left that helped set up the game-winning field goal. This was Shough's second meeting with Carolina, and he is now 2-0 against the division rival and has now lead the Saints to a two-game win streak. He will look to carry this momentum into Week 16's home matchup against the Jets, who are allowing the third-most points per game and the 10th-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Shough ranks as a QB2 this week with intriguing upside for that one.
