With virtually their entire receiving corps on the COVID list, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Marvin Hall should see plenty of targets on Sunday against the New York Jets. Hall had one big game for Detroit earlier this season, catching four passes for 113 yards, but hasn't played since being signed by the Browns. Don't expect huge things, but with the other receivers on this team being practice squad guys, Hall should see a handful of targets and is a good dart throw WR4. He's also at rock-bottom prices in DFS, though he may wind up being too chalky because of this.
The Cleveland Browns claimed wide receiver Marvin Hall off waivers from the Lions on Monday. Hall was cut by Detroit over the weekend and has found a new home quickly. The 27-year-old from Washington saw increased action with Kenny Golladay (hip) injured this year, posting career-highs in catches (17), targets (30), receiving yards (290) and touchdowns (two) in 11 games (five starts). There is some opportunity with Cleveland in their passing game with Odell Beckham Jr. out for the season with an injury of his own, but Hall will have to prove himself behind Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge. Hall should remain on waiver wires in all leagues.
The Detroit Lions plan to waive wide receiver Marvin Hall, opening up chances for younger players like Quintez Cephus to see time at receiver over the rest of the season. Outside of the injured Kenny Golladay, Detroit hasn't had much youth at wide receiver lately, so this will give them the chance to see if Cephus can be a future contributor. We'll see if Hall latches on somewhere for the end of the season, but overall this move doesn't have much season-long fantasy impact.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Hall caught two passes for 61 yards with one touchdown in the Lions win in Week 10 over Washington. Hall got the Lions on the board in the first quarter, coming down with a beautiful 55-yard pass for a touchdown. Hall did little else in the game but has stepped up nicely at times to give the Lions production in lieu of star receiver Kenny Golladay's injury-riddled season. Hall is now averaging 67.3 receiving yards a game over his last three performances and will try to build on that next week against the Panthers.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Hall caught four passes for a team-high 113 yards in Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, including catching a huge 73-yarder at one point. He was targeted seven times. With Kenny Golladay exiting with a hip injury, Hall wound up playing a larger role than anticipated. If Golladay is unable to play against the Vikings in Week 9, Hall could be an intriguing streaming play in deep leagues.
Marvin Hall Catches Only One Pass In Preseason Loss
Chicago Bears wide receiver Marvin Hall caught only one pass for four yards in the Bears 32-13 loss to the Giants in their second preseason game. But the stat sheet doesn't tell the whole story. Hall was wide open down the seam for an easy catch-and-run touchdown but was wildly overthrown by third-stringer Tyler Brady. Hall will need to really establish himself on offense or special teams in the final two preseason games if he hopes to make the final roster.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Marvin Hall should see plenty of playing time in the team's second preseason game against the Giants. The starters had a full-length practice the other day and none are expected to play. This opens the door for players like Hall, who now have a shot to ascend up the pecking order to make the final roster. The third-year receiver will have to beat out teammates Javon Wims and Tanner Gentry to earn the final wide receiver spot. Hall caught 10 passes last season for 149 yards and one touchdown last season for the Falcons.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Marvin Hall got himself on the score sheet Monday night against the New York Giants. Hall was always likely to see a little more time on the field with Mohamed Sanu and Calvin Ridley a little banged up this week. Whenever Hall is on the field he is a threat to break a big one and he managed to sail past his coverage and catch a 47-yard deep bomb in the end zone. Hall was not a big part of the offense, catching all three of his targets for 63 yards. However, there were times in this game where Hall and Justin Hardy were the only two receivers on the field. Hall is unlikely to have regular fantasy value this year but in best ball leagues he will have the odd performance like this that gets him into your lineup.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Marvin Hall made the most of his one reception on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Hall's one target in this game was a 30 yard reception. Hall is currently sat at least fourth on the wide receiver depth chart. While that is the case he has very little fantasy value. However, if one of the big three for the Falcons was to go down then making the most of his opportunities in these games could ensure Hall has the shot to be the next man up for the Falcons. Hall is a player to watch in case of an injury among the Falcons receiving core, as we have seen that this offense likes to spread the ball around among its offensive weapons.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Marvin Hall has been ruled out of preseason action on Saturday with an undisclosed injury. Hall has been competing for one of the last couple of spots on the roster this preseason. Given that this injury is not seen as major, it is thought that Hall has already done enough to make the roster. Hall has shown potential as both a receiver and a return man so far this preseason. There is some hope that Hall may be able to fill the Taylor Gabriel role, where the Falcons get the ball in his hands in different ways in the hope his speed makes things happen. Hall will not enter the season with much fantasy value but if he develops a role in this offense then he could have value off waiver wires in deeper leagues.
