Matt Feiler Fantasy Stats

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed offensive guard Matt Feiler to a one-year deal. The 30-year-old is an experienced player who has started with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers. He has spent each of the last two seasons as the starting left guard in Los Angeles. However, Feiler does have experience at the tackle spot during his time in Pittsburgh. Feiler is a solid enough player to challenge for a starting spot on the o-line during camp.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that offensive guard Matt Feiler (pectoral) was placed on the Injured Reserve on Tuesday after suffering a pectoral injury in the Week 14 loss to the Bills on Sunday night. It's more bad news for a Steelers offensive line and running game that has struggled mightily in two straight losses to Buffalo and Washington. On top of it, lead running back James Conner (quadriceps) is fighting through injury and could be limited in practice this week. Chukwuma Okafor (ankle), Terrell Edmunds (shoulder) and Kevin Dotson (shoulder) could also be limited this week. Cornerback Joe Haden (concussion) is expected to be cleared from the league's protocol after sitting out in Week 14.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin discussed the team's offensive line with reporters on Tuesday. He expects Matt Feiler to open camp at left guard while Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner will battle it out for the starting right tackle spot. Those projections are fluid, however, as Tomlin stated that things could change at the start of the regular season. The coaching staff will have to decide whether Banner and/or Okorafor are better at right tackle than Stefen Wisniewski is at left guard. Okorafor and Banner have a combined five starts across their respective NFL careers. The young Pittsburgh offensive line could experience some growing pains early in the season.
