DeSean Jackson, Nick Boyle Waived By Ravens

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver DeSean Jackson (illness) and tight end Nick Boyle were waived on Saturday. Jackson appeared in seven games with the team, catching nine passes for 153 yards. Boyle primarily served as a blocker and was targeted just twice over the last two seasons.

Nick Boyle Agrees To Reworked Contract

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle agreed to a reworked contract on Friday, according to a source. Boyle's salary of $5 million was lowered to $1.12 million with a $2.63 signing bonus plus an additional $1.25 million available through incentives. $1 million of his 2023 salary was converted to a roster bonus next year. The move creates $2.565 million in salary cap space this year. Boyle played in only five games last year due to a knee injury that required two surgeries, but the Ravens expect him to be ready for the 2022 campaign. The 29-year-old might not be the same player he was before the injury, though, and he'll continue his blocking role behind pass-catching tight end Mark Andrews. Boyle can be ignored in fantasy unless Andrews misses time with an injury.

Nick Boyle Expected To Be Fully Healthy Heading Into 2022

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle (knee) is expected to be fully healthy heading into the 2022 season. After suffering a significant knee injury in 2020, the 29-year-old returned in Week 11 and appeared in only five games. He was a non-factor in the passing game last season and caught one pass for two yards. According to head coach John Harbaugh, Boyle should be back at full speed for the 2022 campaign. The veteran is regarded as the best blocking tight end in the league, and if he regains his pre-injury form, his presence should only help QB Lamar Jackson and the Ravens offense in 2022.

Nick Boyle Limited In Monday's Practice

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle (knee) was limited on Monday's estimated practice report. On Monday, the Ravens activated tight end Nick Boyle (knee) from injured reserve and placed safety DeShon Elliott on IR in a corresponding move. The 28-year-old is set to practice this week and could return Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins. Boyle caught 14 of his 17 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns in nine games started in 2020. When healthy, the Delaware product is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league. Boyle is not on the fantasy radar with Mark Andrews as Baltimore's top pass-catching tight end.

Nick Boyle Back From Injured Reserve

The Baltimore Ravens activated tight end Nick Boyle (knee) from Injured Reserve on Monday and placed safety DeShon Elliott on IR in a corresponding move. Boyle will be at practice this week and will be eligible to return and play on Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins in Week 10. The 28-year-old will be making his season debut when he gets into a game after catching 14 of his 17 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns in nine games started in 2020. Mark Andrews remains the team's top pass-catching tight end, but Boyle will give the Ravens more depth at the position next to Josh Oliver and Eric Tomlinson.

Nick Boyle Back At Practice

The Baltimore Ravens opened up the practice window for tight end Nick Boyle (knee) on Wednesday, and they have 21 days to activate him from Injured Reserve. Boyle hasn't played this year after suffering a major knee injury in November of last year, and he had a clean-up procedure done on his knee this summer. He is one of the league's best blocking tight ends in the league when healthy, so his return will be a boost to Baltimore's rushing attack, but it's unlikely that he'll suit up this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Boyle has also improved as a receiver, but he won't be fantasy relevant with Mark Andrews catching most of the passes. Boyle had a career-high 31 grabs for 321 yards and two touchdowns in his last full season in 2019.

Nick Boyle Placed On Short-Term IR

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle (knee) will go on short-term injured reserve, according to head coach John Harbaugh. This means Boyle will be held out of action for a minimum of three weeks and can return in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. Boyle is more of a blocking tight end, so the Baltimore rushing attack will be better off with him in the lineup. The 28-year-old doesn't have a significant role in the passing game, but he can act as a big red zone target for quarterback Lamar Jackson. Still, he doesn't offer enough consistency to be a viable fantasy option at tight end. He can be disregarded in all formats and league sizes.

Nick Boyle Activated From The PUP List

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle (knee) passed his physical and was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform List on Monday. He is getting close to returning to action and was removed from the PUP Monday. The 28-year-old agreed to a two-year, $13 million extension during the offseason that will keep him around through the 2023 season. The deal includes $10.5 million fully guaranteed. Boyle is one of the best blocking tight ends in the game, and his presence only helps Lamar Jackson and the offense. He caught 14 passes on 17 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns over nine games in 2022. Boyle would become fantasy-relevant if starter Mark Andrews were to miss any games.

Ravens, Nick Boyle Agree On Two-Year Extension

The Baltimore Ravens and tight end Nick Boyle agreed to a two-year, $13 million extension on Friday that will keep him around through the 2023 season. The deal includes $10.5 million fully guaranteed upon signing. Boyle suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Week 10 loss to the Patriots. He finished the 202 campaign with only 14 receptions on 17 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns. The 27-year-old former fifth-round pick in 2015 had a career-high 31 catches on 43 targets for 321 yards and two touchdowns in 2019, but he remains primarily a blocking tight end and is one of the best in the league. Boyle will stick around in Baltimore for at least a few more seasons, but he's of little fantasy interest with Mark Andrews being the team's primary pass-catching threat at the position on a run-first squad.

Nick Boyle Suffers Season-Ending Injury Sunday Night

Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle (knee) suffered a season-ending left knee injury in the third quarter of the Sunday night loss to the Patriots in Week 10, according to head coach John Harbaugh. It's a big loss for a run-first team like Baltimore, as Boyle is considered one of the top blocking tight ends in football. He also entered the game as the team's sixth-leading receiver. The 27-year-old was a vital part of Baltimore's offense, but he wasn't much of a fantasy asset, catching only 14 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns in nine games this season behind Mark Andrews, who is the team's top pass-catching tight end. Andrews should see some more looks with Boyle now done for the season. Baltimore also has Xavier Grimble and Sean Culkin on their practice squad.
