Minnesota Vikings wide receiver N'Keal Harry is reportedly up to 240 pounds in preparation for his attempted move to tight end. The 2019 first-round pick by the New England Patriots out of Arizona State has not found success at receiver through his first five NFL campaigns, and there have been a few success stories of players moving to tight end. Harry said heard "whispers" during his career about moving to tight end, but the Vikings were the first team to broach it with him with the idea. With T.J. Hockenson (knee) likely out of action to begin 2024 after a late-season ACL tear last year, it will be interesting to see if Harry can carve out a role in the new-look Vikings offense led by Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy. He's not on the fantasy radar in regular leagues, but deep-league dynasty fantasy managers could take a flyer on him.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver N'Keal Harry is working with the team's tight ends this offseason to see if he can carve out a role, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. He is still being listed as a wide receiver, but the 6-foot-4 pass-catcher could make the transition to tight end. Harry was selected with the No. 32 overall pick by the New England Patriots in 2019, but he has not found his place in the NFL thus far. Through his first 40 games with the Patriots and Chicago Bears, he's collected just 64 receptions for 714 yards and five touchdowns. With T.J. Hockenson (knee) expected to miss the start of the season after suffering a late-season ACL tear in 2023, Harry could be an interesting player to monitor as this development progresses. For now, he is far from the fantasy football radar.
The Minnesota Vikings activated wide receiver N'Keal Harry to the active roster to replace Justin Jefferson (hamstring), who heads to injured reserve. The 2021 first-round draft pick didn't reach the end of his rookie contract with New England, had a cup of coffee with the Bears, and was cut by Minnesota prior to the preseason finale this year. He's since spent time on the Vikings' practice squad. Coach Kevin O'Connell talked up Harry on Wednesday but he has a long way to go before seeing consistent playing time. K.J. Osborn and Jordan Addison are the two wideouts who will see increased usage with Jefferson on the sidelines.
The Minnesota Vikings released former New England Patriots first-round wide receiver N'Keal Harry on Thursday. Harry, the 32nd overall pick by the Patriots in 2019 out of Arizona State, has turned out to be a bust in the NFL to this point. He spent last season with the Chicago Bears but only played in seven games and caught seven passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. In his three years in New England, Harry had 57 receptions on 103 targets for 598 yards and four scores. The 25-year-old is dealing with a soft-tissue injury that caused him to miss Minnesota's last preseason game. Harry will look to latch on with another team before the regular season, but he'll need to get healthy first.
Free-agent wide receiver N'Keal Harry reached an undisclosed deal with the Vikings on Sunday. The 2019 No.32 overall pick has appeared in 40 games for the Patriots and Bears during his career. Unfortunately, he hasn't lived up to his pre-draft hype, totaling 64 catches for 714 yards and five touchdowns. Harry probably won't be any more productive in Minnesota, considering the team has Justin Jefferson, K.J. Osborne, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson on the depth chart. That's not to say Harry won't have a few decent fantasy showings this year. However, he likely won't be much of a factor for fantasy managers in the grand scheme of things.
Chicago Bears wide receiver N'Keal Harry had one catch for 16 yards in the loss to the Detroit Lions. The wideout was targeted only once. However, it likely wouldn't have mattered even if he got more attention from Justin Fields, considering the signal-caller completed just seven of his 21 attempts. It's safe to say Harry has been a disappointment in his first season with the Bears, arguably playing worse than he did in New England. The 25-year-old likely isn't on many fantasy rosters, and that probably won't change once fantasy draft season comes around.
Chicago Bears wide receiver N'Keal Harry (back) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. With Chase Claypool (knee) also ruled out on Friday, the Bears will be thin in the receiving corps and are already missing top wideout Darnell Mooney (ankle). Harry has been a first-round bust so far in his NFL career, with the first three years coming in New England. He's only played in four games for the Bears in 2022, catching five of his six targets for 93 yards and one touchdown. Without Claypool and Harry in the fold this weekend, Equanimeous St. Brown should be the team's leading target in the passing game. Dante Pettis and rookie Velus Jones Jr. will have expanded roles as well and could surprise fantasy managers in a game in which the Bears should have to throw the ball more than they'd like to.
Chicago Bears wide receiver N'Keal Harry may be in line for a larger role in Week 15 with the status of wide receiver Chase Claypool up in the air. Harry has been a distant option for the Bears this season when healthy, as he's only had five catches all season. Acquired from the Patriots in the offseason, Harry was originally projected to be one of the Bears' starters this season. However, with other moves being made and Harry getting injured, that did not materialize. He may have very fleeting touchdown upside this week, but he's not a recommended fantasy option in any format.
N'Keal Harry, Velus Jones Jr. Inactive For Week 10
Chicago Bears wide receivers N'Keal Harry and Velus Jones Jr. are inactive for the upcoming Week 10 matchup against the Detroit Lions. This shouldn't come as a shock with Byron Pringle returning for this game. His return will make Harry inactive as Jones will miss his second straight game. The addition of Chase Claypool has ended the fantasy value of Harry and Jones in Chicago. The Bears are going to focus on passing to Claypool, Darnell Mooney, and Cole Kmet. The expectation is that Pringle won't have a big enough role to warrant rostering in fantasy leagues.
Chicago Bears wide receiver N'Keal Harry caught two passes for 24 yards with one touchdown in the team's 49-29 loss to the Cowboys in Week 8. Harry made his Bears debut last week against the Patriots and caught one pass. He was not heavily involved against the Cowboys but made a nice catch on a beautiful pass from quarterback Justin Fields for a touchdown. Harry has the physical traits and size that make him appealing on a team that is talent deficient at present in the wide receivers room. There is opportunity to be had moving forward but it will be up to Harry to seize it in the weeks ahead.
