Washington Redskins wide receiver Robert Davis has been targeted thrice in two preseason games thus far. He's hauled in two of them, and both resulted in touchdowns of 46 and 55 yards. As unsustainable a success rate as this is, no positive performance from a Redskins wideout should be dismissed by the coaching staff. Their WR depth chart is an abundance of question marks, and every potential possibility for production should be considered. That said, Davis will also need to factor into the equation on plays that don't result in 50-yard touchdowns if he's going to earn regular playing time. He's playing himself into a roster spot, but fantasy relevance is a different story.
Robert Davis Catches Long Touchdown Against Cleveland
Washington Redskins wide receiver Robert Davis saw only one target in his first preseason action of 2019, but he made it count, hauling in a 46-yard touchdown from Case Keenum. While that one catch would have resulted in a decent fantasy day all by itself during the regular season, it's far from an indication that Davis is in line for more such days. The preseason isn't as much about results as it is about usage, at least for players who are trying to earn a roster spot. Davis made the one play that came his way, but unless he sees more volume in the Redskins' upcoming exhibitions, we shouldn't read too much into the long touchdown.
Washington Redskins wide receiver Robert Davis (leg) will miss the 2018 season. He has been diagnosed with a torn PCL which will require surgery. The typical recovery time is 9-12 months which offers possible hope that he will get another chance in the 2019 preseason to pursue his NFL dream. He drew praise in the off-season but was facing an uphill fight to win a significant enough role to be a factor in most fantasy leagues.
