Rondale Moore News
Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Rondale Moore had an impressive NFL debut. He saw five targets, catching four of them for 68 yards. Moore did not score a touchdown, with DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk combining for four touchdowns. However, he saw as many targets as Christian Kirk, which is a good sign heading into Week 2. As quarterback Kyler Murray gets more comfortable with Moore in the offense, he could ramp up his targets. The Cardinals will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. The Vikings defense gave up 191 yards to receiversTee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd in Week 1. Expect the Cardinals receivers to take advantage of the Vikings defense. Moore should be considered a fringe flex option in deeper leagues.
Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Rondale Moore is listed as the WR2 on the Cardinals depth chart, indicating that he could see more targets thanA.J. Green and Christian Kirk. During the preseason, Moore had six receptions for 38 yards. It's a small sample size, but in the game where quarterbackKyler Murray was featured against the Kansas City Chiefs, Moore had three receptions on five targets for 15 yards. It seems like he has surpassed Kirk on the depth chart. It remains to be seen who Murray will target more in Week 1, but for now, it seems like a toss-up as to whom head coach Kliff Kingsbury considers the WR2. Nevertheless, expect Moore to be involved in the offense early and often, as Murray will need to throw the ball to keep up with the Titans offense. He is ranked as the WR60 against the Titans, so consider the talented rookie as more of a deep-league flex consideration with some upside.
It was clear that the Cardinals had a vision for Rondale Moore when they selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Now, Lindsay Jones of The Athletic opines that the Purdue product could receive a significant portion of Larry Fitzgerald's vacated targets, potentially more than anyone else on the team. Jones adds, "I wouldn't be surprised if he passes [A.J.] Green and Christian Kirk on the list of Kyler Murray's favorite weapons." While he's currently not on many fantasy managers' radars, Moore, who possesses youth and versatility, could serve as an intriguing waiver-wire addition early in the season. He should be rostered in all dynasty leagues and monitored throughout all redraft formats.
