The veteran has appeared in just three games this season while battling through elbow and shoulder injuries, and he'll now miss at least one more after not progressing through the league's concussion protocol. With Chicago also playing on Thanksgiving Day, he could be in danger of missing yet another contest. In his stead, teammate Teven Jenkins projects to hold down the Bears' left guard spot.

Bates has considerable upside for Buffalo's offensive line, but he's made only four starts in 41 games in his three seasons with the Bills.
