The Carolina Panthers are signing wide receiver Seth Roberts to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Roberts played four seasons with the Raiders before catching a career-low 21 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games for Baltimore in 2019. The 29-year-old is a decent red-zone weapon but has always been receiver depth and should function in that role again with Carolina behind D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. He'll be battling for targets with Jarius Wright and Brandon Zylstra. Roberts will be taking his passes from new quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in his new home.
Seth Roberts Leads Ravens In Receiving On Thursday Night
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Seth Roberts led the team in receiving in Thursday night's win over the Jets. Roberts caught all three of his targets for a season-high 66 yards and a 33-yard touchdown pass just before the end of the third quarter. Roberts now has 19 receptions for 248 yards and two touchdowns in 2019. It's tricky to predict who quarterbackLamar Jackson will throw a touchdown pass to in any given week, making it too difficult to trust Roberts as a fantasy asset against the Browns in Week 16.
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Seth Roberts pulled in both of his targets against the Bengals on Sunday, finishing with just 23 yards in a game that was highlighted by the play of quarterback Lamar Jackson, who rushed for 152 yards on 19 carries. While Marquise Brown (ankle) wasn't in the lineup, Roberts wasn't able to get anything going. Continue to not expect much from 28-year-old, however, even if Hollywood misses more time in the weeks ahead.
The Baltimore Ravens signed free-agent wide receiver Seth Roberts to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday, according to a source. Baltimore is in serious need of beefing up their receiver corps, and Roberts barely moves the needle alongside Willie Snead, Jordan Lasley, Chris Moore, Quincy Adeboyejo and Jaleel Scott. Roberts had 45 catches for 494 yards and two touchdowns in his final season in Oakland. Even if he's one of the team's top receivers, Roberts will have a low fantasy ceiling in a run-first offense in 2019.
The Oakland Raiders released wide receiver Seth Roberts on Thursday, according to a source. Roberts became expendable after the team inked Ryan Grant to a deal this week. The 28-year-old had a career-high 45 receptions for 494 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games for the Raiders in 2018. He has 158 catches, 1,826 yards and 13 touchdowns in his four years in the NFL, all with the Raiders. He could latch on with another team but would be a long shot to return any real fantasy value.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts posted a very modest stat line in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Roberts ended with just three catches for 29 yards and no touchdowns. He now has three or more receptions in five of his last six games, but no more than five receptions in that span. He is seeing decent volume in the passing game, but barely doing anything productive with that volume. Roberts will continue to be a risky, fantasy option who is generally touchdown dependant every week.
Seth Roberts Punt Wide Receiver Option Against Bengals
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts is a low-end fantasy option this Sunday against the Bengals. Roberts has seen six or more targets in three of his last four games, but hasn't posted any touchdowns or gained more than 76 yards. Roberts is very cheap in the DFS industry and with the Bengals having the 27th DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average) versus the pass, he is in a spot to succeed but still makes a risky option due to the lackluster production.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts had a solid fantasy game in Sunday's win against the Steelers. Roberts finished with five receptions for 76 yards and no touchdowns. Those five catches came on seven targets, which was tied for second-most on the team, along with the 76 yards being second-most. He was shown to be one of the favorites targets of Derek Carr, which should only benefit him as the season comes to a close.
Oakland Raiders running back Doug Martin (knee) and wide receiver Seth Roberts (concussion) are both listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Steelers. Martin should be good to go for this game, but he could lose work to Jalen Richard and Deandre Washington. Martin is a touchdown-dependent RB3 that could suffer in negative game script. Roberts was a mid-week addition to the injury report and is truly questionable. He hasn't produced with Martavis Bryant out and isn't much of a fantasy option, even if he plays. If he sits out, it'd be good news for rookie Marcell Ateman as a WR4/flex in deeper leagues. Expect the Raiders to lean on Jordy Nelson and tight end Jared Cook heavily on Sunday.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Seth Roberts (concussion) was added to the Week 14 injury report and was limited in practice on Thursday. It's not a good sign that Roberts is listed with a concussion in the middle of the week, but he still has a chance to play against the Steelers this weekend. Roberts hasn't topped five catches or 54 yards in a game this year and isn't much of a fantasy option if he suits up. If he's out, Jordy Nelson and rookie Marcell Ateman will see bigger roles alongside tight end Jared Cook. Roberts hasn't taken advantage of Martavis Bryant being out for the season.
