Stephon Gilmore News
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) underwent surgery shortly after the season ended and will have a four- to six-month recovery period. Gilmore should be fine for training camp this summer, but he's also eligible for free agency this March. In his 12th NFL season in 2023, and first with the Cowboys, Gilmore had a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed and one forced fumble in 17 regular season starts. Despite being 33 years old, he has proven he's still one of the better cornerbacks in the league. The Cowboys should have plenty of interest in re-signing Gilmore as long as his recovery from shoulder surgery goes well this offseason.
Dallas Cowboys defensive back Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) will suit up for Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday after being removed from Friday's final injury report. Gilmore sat out of Wednesday's walkthrough but was limited on both Thursday and Friday. His presence will be an asset to a secondary that will be tasked with slowing down quarterback Jordan Love, who has been playing well at the end of his first full year as a starter. Love could also have all of his receivers available to him if Christian Watson (hamstring) returns for the first time since Week 13.
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) was the only player on the team's 53-man roster that didn't take part in practice on Wednesday due to injury. Even though Gilmore isn't expected to practice all week after injuring his shoulder in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Washington Commanders, head coach Mike McCarthy expects him to play in Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. The 33-year-old could still enter Sunday's game with a questionable tag and could be less effective if he does actually suit up. The five-time Pro Bowler is a huge part of Dallas' strong defense, so his status is worth watching this weekend. In 17 starts in his first year for the Cowboys, Gilmore had a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed and a forced fumble.
