Stephon Gilmore News
Five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Stephon Gilmore agreed to a two-year, $23 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts that includes $14 million guaranteed on Friday, according to a source. Gilmore was also the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 with the New England Patriots. The 31-year-old has made the Pro Bowl each of the last four seasons, including last year in his first season with the Carolina Panthers, when he had 16 tackles (15 solo), two interceptions and two passes defensed in only eight games (three starts) due to injuries. He has missed a total of 14 games in the last two years and isn't quite the All-Pro shutdown cornerback he once was, but he'll be joining a strong Colts defense that also includes DeForest Buckner, Darius Leonard and Kenny Moore.
Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore visited the Colts on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The five-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Player of the Year was traded from the Patriots to the Panthers this past season. Through eight games with Carolina, he picked off two passes and racked up 16 tackles. Just 31 years old, Gilmore can have an instant impact as soon as he aligns in the secondary.
Free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore is reportedly on Buffalo's radar. The veteran has recently drawn interest from other teams throughout the league, specifically the Chiefs and Eagles. However, after Gilmore spent his first five seasons with the Bills, the office is hoping to bring him back for his second stint with the team. Levi Wallace left via free agency, and with Tre'Davious White coming off a season-ending ACL tear in November, the Bills could certainly use him. The 31-year-old has compiled an impressive professional resume, accumulating 427 total tackles, 27 interceptions, seven forced fumbles, and two touchdowns throughout 10 years of service. His best days are likely behind him. Yet, he still has value for managers participating in IDP formats.
