Stephon Gilmore News
Former Pro Bowl cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, according to a source. The former Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots defensive back will reunite with defensive coordinator Brian Flores in Minnesota. The Vikings had long been in the market for a big-name cornerback, and Gilmore was being patient and biding his time. Gilmore is fully healthy and demonstrated it during his visit with the Vikes before signing. The 33-year-old veteran had offseason surgery on his shoulder after starting in all 17 regular-season games for Dallas in 2023, registering a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 pass breakups and a forced fumble. Gilmore will be a starter for the Vikings and will be a big-time upgrade to their secondary as long as he's healthy.

Stephon Gilmore To Visit With Vikings
Free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) said that he's flying out on Sunday to visit with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. Gilmore is presumably healthy now after having offseason surgery on his shoulder back in February. The former 10th overall pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2012 out of South Carolina played in 17 regular-season games with the Dallas Cowboys last year and finished with a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 pass breakups and a forced fumble. The 12-year-old NFL veteran and five-time Pro Bowler proved last year that he can still make an impact for a team when healthy and will now visit with interested teams to prove that he's worth a roster spot as he heads into his 13th NFL season.

Stephon Gilmore Not In A Rush To Sign A Deal
Free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore remains unsigned heading toward training camp. Yet, he doesn't seem to mind. "Being patient right now," said the multi-time Pro Bowler during a recent interview. "I feel good. Year 13, been playing a long time. So, I'm just being patient and waiting for the right opportunity." The 2012 No. 10 overall pick appeared in 17 games for Dallas last season. He totaled 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, and 13 passes defensed. In April, Gilmore was rumored to be nearing an agreement with the Panthers, the team he played for in 2021-22. However, that never happened. Nonetheless, there's a good chance he'll find work sometime soon. But for now, he'll remain on the open market until he finds a contract to his liking.

Stephon Gilmore Waiting For Right Opportunity
Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore still wants to play football but is waiting for the right opportunity, he told NFL insider Josina Anderson. "I know the value I still bring," Gilmore said. "If you watch the tape, I feel like I played well the last two years, and literally almost played every snap last year." Indeed, Gilmore was impactful in 2023. He started all 17 games for the Cowboys, registering two interceptions, 13 passes defended, 68 tackles, and one forced fumble. He's still a starting-caliber defender who could justify holding out for a specific opportunity, perhaps with a contender.

Stephon Gilmore Has Shoulder Surgery
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) underwent surgery shortly after the season ended and will have a four- to six-month recovery period. Gilmore should be fine for training camp this summer, but he's also eligible for free agency this March. In his 12th NFL season in 2023, and first with the Cowboys, Gilmore had a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed and one forced fumble in 17 regular season starts. Despite being 33 years old, he has proven he's still one of the better cornerbacks in the league. The Cowboys should have plenty of interest in re-signing Gilmore as long as his recovery from shoulder surgery goes well this offseason.

Stephon Gilmore Will Play Against Packers
Dallas Cowboys defensive back Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) will suit up for Sunday's wild-card matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday after being removed from Friday's final injury report. Gilmore sat out of Wednesday's walkthrough but was limited on both Thursday and Friday. His presence will be an asset to a secondary that will be tasked with slowing down quarterback Jordan Love, who has been playing well at the end of his first full year as a starter. Love could also have all of his receivers available to him if Christian Watson (hamstring) returns for the first time since Week 13.

Stephon Gilmore Doesn't Practice Wednesday
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) was the only player on the team's 53-man roster that didn't take part in practice on Wednesday due to injury. Even though Gilmore isn't expected to practice all week after injuring his shoulder in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Washington Commanders, head coach Mike McCarthy expects him to play in Sunday's wild-card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. The 33-year-old could still enter Sunday's game with a questionable tag and could be less effective if he does actually suit up. The five-time Pro Bowler is a huge part of Dallas' strong defense, so his status is worth watching this weekend. In 17 starts in his first year for the Cowboys, Gilmore had a career-high 68 tackles (54 solo), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed and a forced fumble.

Stephon Gilmore Questionable To Return In Week 18
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup with the Commanders. The veteran exited for the blue medical tent while holding his right arm. However, after a trip to the locker room, it was reported Gilmore is dealing with a shoulder injury. The 33-year-old is still productive despite spending over a decade in the National Football League, so the Cowboys will need him on the field come the postseason.
