Terron Ward To Play This Monday
With Atlanta Falcons backup running back Tevin Coleman thrust into lead back duties due to Devonta Freemans (concussion) injury-related absence in Week 11 duties versus the Seattle Seahawks, running back Terron Ward will step into the role that Coleman once filled. Like Coleman, Ward can expect to see a small percentage of touches and snaps. Coleman was masterful at producing lead back numbers out of second back touches, and hopefully Ward will fare as well. However, starting Ward is a risky proposition. So far this season, Ward has rushed nine times for 23 yards to the tune of a very paltry 2.3 yards per carry. For context, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan currently averages 4.9 yards per carry. Ward hasnt wowed anyone yet, and theres not a lot of reason to think he might. In deeper leagues, and for fantasy owners with roster spots for potential sleepers, Ward might warrant a look this week. Otherwise, Ward's name is a just a useful one to know.
