Tom Brady News
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that quarterback Tom Brady (knee) is expected to be ready to participate in team drills by June after he had surgery on his knee this month. The 43-year-old had minor cleanup surgery on his knee after winning his seventh Lombardi trophy by beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. He will return for the final year of his two-year deal in 2021, and the Buccaneers are now considering a contract extension for the GOAT after he didn't show any signs of slowing down in 2020. With most of the team's offensive weapons expected to return next season, Brady should continue to have a high floor as at least a midrange QB1 for fantasy managers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said that the team could approach quarterback Tom Brady about a contract extension as he heads into the final year of his two-year deal with the team. Like Licht said, the 43-year-old GOAT didn't appear to slow down at all in 2020 on his way to winning his seventh Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LV over the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady is defying all expectations as he ventures into uncharted territory in terms of playing into his 40s, and it looks like he might play up until he's 45 at this point. While Father Time will get to him eventually, Brady remains healthy and productive for a Tampa Bay team with plenty of offensive weapons, so he'll at least be a midrange QB1 heading into the 2021 season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (knee) will have a minor surgical procedure on his knee, with head coach Bruce Arians calling the surgery "a clean-up." The 43-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion dealt with some knee discomfort for most of the 2020 season and will have it cleaned up this offseason. Brady had a brace on his left knee in the Super Bowl and went 21-for-29 for 201 yards and three touchdowns to earn Super Bowl LV MVP honors. The GOAT just keeps defying expectations and has gone where no NFL player has gone yet in terms of continued elite success over the course of an entire career. Brady should have most of his weapons back in 2021 and plans to return, making him a QB1 after throwing for 4,633 yards, 40 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions during the regular season.
