Tre'Quan Smith A Flex Option For Week 2

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith is a good flex piece for Week 2 against the Raiders. With Michael Thomasout for a few weeks, Smith could see more targets headed his way as Drew Brees could distribute the ball more. The receiver grabbed only one reception on one target for 14 yards in Week 1, but it's worth noting the Raiders rank top-10 in points allowed to wideouts after one week of the season. Smith will be the fourth-best option in the passing game, behind Alvin Kamara, Jared Cook, and Emmanuel Sanders. Therefore, he merits flex value and nothing more.

Tre'Quan Smith Disappoints In Week 1

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith had a very quiet Week 1 game in a 34-23 win over the Buccaneers. Smith caught his lone target for four yards in what was a sloppy offensive game for New Orleans. It seemed to be a series of strange play calls from head coach Sean Payton, who said as much in the postgame presser. The 24-year-old was handpicked by his own quarterback Drew Brees as a breakout candidate this year, so the potential is there. Perhaps a juicy matchup in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders can get Smith going.

Tre'Quan Smith Should Be Avoided In Week 1

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith should not be in fantasy lineups in Week 1. Smith could be a sneaky sleeper down the line, but it's too early to take a plunge and insert him into lineups, despite the matchup against an inconsistent Bucs secondary. The 24-year-old battled injuries last year and when he was in the lineup, faced stiff competition for targets. He does seem to have a knack for finding the end zone, but don't try to rely on that happening in this sort of uncertain fantasy environment.
