Barion Brown Draws Comparison to Former Saints Wideout

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Barion Brown received a pretty notable comparison from Chris Olave on Thursday. According to Erin Summers, Olave said Brown reminds him a lot of former Saints receiver Rashid Shaheed, adding that the two are "basically the same player." Brown came to New Orleans as a sixth-round pick after finishing his college career with 175 catches for 2,060 yards and 12 touchdowns. His return work stands out even more. Brown averaged 29.4 yards on 65 kickoff returns and took six of them for touchdowns, an SEC career record. He has also been making plays as a receiver in camp, with Kellen Moore praising his progress earlier this month and the Saints noting that Brown was on the receiving end of several deep balls early in camp. New Orleans has plenty of competition at receiver, including Chris Olave, first-round pick Jordyn Tyson, Devaughn Vele and fourth-round pick Bryce Lance. Brown may not have an immediate redraft role, but he is giving dynasty managers something to watch.

Rashid Shaheed to be Major Factor in 2026

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is expected to be a major factor in 2026, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Fowler wrote in his 2026 NFL Training Camp Buzz that Shaheed has been moving around the formation at camp, including time in the backfield. A full offseason in Seattle makes him a more viable option across the field, from short to deep. The former Saints playmaker was traded to the Seahawks at last season's trade deadline and hauled in 15 of 26 targets for 188 yards and no touchdowns in nine games. With a full offseason to get acclimated to the offense and build chemistry with quarterback Sam Darnold, Shaheed could be a great value in the late rounds of fantasy leagues this season.

Rashid Shaheed Preparing for Bigger Role

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is expected to have a larger role in the offense this upcoming season. He joined the team mid-season last year, finishing with 15 receptions during his nine games with the organization. After a full offseason and training camp with the Seahawks, Shaheed is expected to have an expanded role in 2026. He now has plenty of time to get more familiar with quarterback Sam Darnold and new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury. The Seahawks don't have many reliable targets outside of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Fantasy managers can be hopeful that Shaheed steps up and becomes more of a WR2 for this offense next season.

Seahawks Building a Role for Rashid Shaheed

The Seattle Seahawks traded for speedy wide receiver Rashid Shaheed at last season's trade deadline, but with him learning a new offense on the fly, the majority of his contributions to the team's title run came through special teams, with the fourth-year player catching only 15 passes in his nine regular-season games with Seattle. Now with a full offseason under his belt, expectations are high, and Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer believes the Seahawks will look to build a specialized role around his straight-line speed and elusiveness. With new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury arriving from San Francisco, where Klint Kubiak also spent time before his 2025 stint with Seattle, Breer speculates that a package of gadget plays could be drawn up for Shaheed similar to how the 49ers used Deebo Samuel Sr. in the past. Shaheed was playing at close to a 1,000-yard pace with the Saints before the trade, so his upside is obvious when used effectively, and he is RotoBaller's WR57 for 2026.

Rashid Shaheed Could be Ready to Hit his Ceiling in 2026

The Athletic's Saad Yousuf thinks that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed could be ready to hit his potential as a wide receiver in his first full year in Seattle in 2026. Defenses will be gearing up to stop receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba after his breakout in 2025, which should allow Shaheed more room to roam deep down the field. Veteran Cooper Kupp is still around, but he's no spring chicken anymore and has missed at least five games in the three seasons before last year. Fantasy managers aren't going to be on the 27-year-old's scent since he has never had 60 catches or 1,000 yards in a season, and he caught just 15 of 26 targets for 188 yards and zero touchdowns in nine games (four starts) with Seattle last year after they acquired him from the New Orleans Saints. Yousuf thinks that new Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Fleury will be able to maximize Shaheed's big-play abilities in 2026. Shaheed had 46 receptions for 719 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games with the Saints in his second year in the NFL, so it's not like he hasn't been a fantasy relevant WR before. Fantasy managers should consider Shaheed a nice late-round sleeper in upcoming drafts, especially in standard-scoring formats.

Rashid Shaheed has "Big Spring," a Bigger Role Coming in 2026?

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Seattle Seahawks speedy wide receiver Rashid Shaheed had a "major spring," and he and quarterback Sam Darnold are "hitting it off." The Seahawks are expected to employ more motions and shifts this year under new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury, and they are planning to give Shaheed more work in the underneath and intermediate areas of the field. The 27-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Weber State could be a big-time player for the Seahawks in 2026 after he caught 15 of 26 targets for 188 yards and no touchdowns in nine regular-season games (four starts) after the Seahawks acquired him midseason from the New Orleans Saints. Shaheed had only three grabs on 10 targets for 78 yards in three postseason games, so he wasn't exactly a big part of last year's offense. Apparently that could change under Fleury, making the speedy wideout a potential late-round sleeper in fantasy drafts this fall. RotoBaller currently has him ranked as the No. 59 fantasy WR. In nine starts with the Saints before being traded in 2025, Shaheed had 44 receptions for 499 yards and two scores on 66 targets.

Rashid Shaheed Carries Dynasty Buy-Low Appeal into 2026

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is entering his first full season with the team after being acquired from the New Orleans Saints at the 2025 trade deadline. Shaheed's production fell off a cliff following last year's trade, as he recorded 15 catches for 188 yards and zero touchdowns across nine games with the Seahawks after hauling in 44 receptions for 499 yards and two scores across nine games with the Saints. Nevertheless, Seattle re-signed Shaheed to a three-year, $51 million contract in March. As a result, he'll enter 2026 in the mix for the team's WR2 spot behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, along with veteran Cooper Kupp and youngster Tory Horton. With a full offseason to integrate himself, Shaheed's role in the Seahawks passing game seems likely to expand. In dynasty formats, managers may have a buy-low window on Shaheed ahead of the 2026 season.

Rashid Shaheed an Underpriced Dynasty Buy Heading into First Full Season with Seattle

Following a mid-season trade from the Saints, Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed saw most of his impact in Seattle come on explosive special teams plays, while he was limited to only 15 receptions for 188 yards in his first nine games with the team. Prior to the trade, Shaheed's 17-game pace with New Orleans was for 943 yards on 83 catches, and in signing him to a three-year, $51 million deal this offseason, the belief in Seattle appears to be that he can return to similar form with a full year in the system. The Seahawks had two or fewer receivers on the field at one of the league's highest rates in 2025, so the spot opposite Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba can be incredibly fruitful for fantasy. Shaheed's primary competition for the job is a soon-to-be-33-year-old Cooper Kupp and 2025 fifth-round pick Tory Horton, who showed promise as a rookie but saw his season ended by a lingering shin injury after only eight games. Shaheed is RotoBaller's dynasty WR83, but with long-term security within one of the league's most well-run organizations and a high-value fantasy role seemingly his to win, he could be viewed as one of the most underpriced buy candidates heading into 2026.

Rashid Shaheed a High-Risk, High-Reward Buy-Low Candidate for Dynasty Managers

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed helped lead his team to a Super Bowl after being traded from the New Orleans Saints at the 2025 trade deadline. However, Shaheed's production cratered once he joined Seattle, as he recorded just 15 catches for 188 yards on 26 targets across nine games with the Seahawks. Despite the middling production, Seattle re-signed Shaheed to a three-year, $51 million contract in free agency. The financial commitment could be an indication of the team's dedication to expanding Shaheed's role in his second season in Seattle. Still, it could also mean that Seattle was thrilled by how Shaheed opened up the offense as a downfield threat and plans to deploy him the exact same way. With wide receivers Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tory Horton, and Cooper Kupp demanding targets in Seattle as well, Shaheed's path to consistent fantasy relevance is unclear. Shaheed offers some buy-low appeal for dynasty managers, but his profile also carries significant risk.

Can Rashid Shaheed Establish a Higher-Volume Role in Seattle in 2026?

After being acquired from the New Orleans Saints at the 2025 trade deadline, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed's production fell off a cliff. Shaheed recorded 15 receptions for 188 yards and zero touchdowns across nine games with Seattle, compared to 44 receptions for 499 yards and two touchdowns across nine games with the Saints. Shaheed saw fewer than three targets per game as a member of the Seahawks and was utilized almost exclusively as a downfield deep-ball threat. Still, Seattle re-signed Shaheed to a three-year contract in free agency. The team could either have larger plans for him in 2026, or it could be satisfied with the production Shaheed provided last season. Star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba is firmly entrenched as Seattle's WR1, leaving Shaheed to fight with wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Tory Horton for targets. Shaheed's big-play ability allows him to maintain some fantasy upside, but his dynasty value is fading now that he's out of New Orleans.
