Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks placed seven players on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday, including starting right tackle Abraham Lucas (knee), who had knee surgery after the end of the 2023 season. In addition to Lucas, the Seahawks placed linebackers Jerome Baker (wrist) and Tyrel Dodson (undisclosed), cornerback Lance Boykin (undisclosed), safety Jerrick Reed II (knee), linebacker Drake Thomas (knee) and nose tackle Cameron Young (undisclosed) on the PUP list. Lucas, 25, missed 11 of the team's 17 games in 2023 due to his knee injury and now won't be ready for the start of training camp practices next week. However, he can be taken off the PUP list at any point during camp and still has a chance to be a part of Seattle's starting offensive line in Week 1 of the regular season.

Abraham Lucas, Uchenna Nwosu On Track To Be Ready
Seattle Seahawks president of football operations John Schneider said that both offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (knee) and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (pectoral) are on track to be ready for the start of the 2024 season. Schneider is unsure if safety Jerrick Reed II (knee) will be ready, but he did say that Reed's rehab has gone well. Lucas, 25, had knee surgery at the end of last season, but he should be ready to go as the team's right tackle later this fall. Nwosu, 27, suffered a torn pectoral muscle in 2023 that limited him to six games. Getting the former second-round pick in 2018 out of USC back will be big news for Seattle's pass rush in 2024, as Nwosu picked up career-highs in combined tackles (66), sacks (9.5), tackles for loss (12) and QB hits (26) in 17 starts in 2022 in his first year in Seattle.

Abraham Lucas Undergoes Knee Surgery
Seattle Seahawks right tackle Abraham Lucas (knee),, who started 16 games as a rookie in 2022, was limited to just six games in 2023 due to a knee injury that first flared up in the season opener. Lucas eventually made it back from Injured Reserve last year, but general manager John Schneider confirmed that Lucas had surgery on his knee this offseason, with the hope being that it will allow him to put any lingering knee issue behind him moving forward. The 25-year-old's knee surgery was more of a cleanup procedure, so he should be just fine for training camp this summer and the start of the 2024 regular season this fall.

Abraham Lucas Slated To Have "A Procedure" On His Knee
Seattle Seahawks right tackle Abraham Lucas (knee) is set to have "a procedure" done on his knee, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Lucas suffered a knee injury in the Seahawks' Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and was placed on the IR earlier this week. He's going to miss the next four games, at least, with the potential to miss more. The second-year tackle currently has no timetable for his return. Jake Curhan will step in and start for Lucas on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The Seahawks will also be without their starting left tackle Charles Cross, who was also injured in Week 1, so it could be tough sledding for the Seattle offense against what appears to be a pesky Lions defense.

Abraham Lucas Limited After Having Shoulder Surgery
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that offensive tackle Abraham Lucas (shoulder) had shoulder surgery this offseason, which is why he's been limited at organized team activities. However, Carroll said Lucas should be ready for the start of the regular season. Lucas was the 72nd overall pick in last year's draft and managed to start 16 games for Seattle in 2022 as their right tackle. As long as the 24-year-old offensive tackle is able to take part in training camp, he should be ready for Week 1 as the team's starting right tackle for his sophomore season in the NFL.
